Keep up the great 👍 vlogs.
Hi Malcolm, thankyou for your comment, glad your enjoying the videos. yes I have been meaning to make a video on the yellow owl pattern. I will look to post it soon.I got the cdc feathers off ebay, try typing it in there 'white cdc' and you should be able to find some. cheers Jake.
Hi. Jake. Managed to get some white and yellow/white cdc. Happy days. Can you tell me what size of hook 🪝 u are using and make. I would use a size 10 or 12 kamasan b170. Or a b420 again in 10 or 12.
Super video Jake. I was striking for you when you were missing those takes. Without doubt the best peg at this time of the year is off the causeway. Anywhere else and it is a long chuck to get anywhere near the aerator. When I fish there I tend to use a very heavily dressed cdc pattern to act as a sort of bung and then fish a small buzzer about a foot underneath it. This gives you two options for a fish to take and you will be surprised at how often a fish will come up for the heavily dressed cdc. Give it a try. Your yellow owl seemed to hold up well, do you gink them up?
Hi Glyn, cheers. Glad you enjoyed! Yes that’s the only downside to the aerator going in is that all the fish horde around it. Yes I’ve never really done it New Zealand style as I usually dry fly fish solo. But I may start attaching a small buzzer underneath. I didn’t use gink for them. I tie them with about 5/6 feathers. So they do well at remaining buoyant. Obviously I change fly each fish too. Cheers 🎣👍🏻
