HOW TO RECEIVE THE GRACE OF GOD UNTO SALVATION
Is it perhaps your desire to enter the kingdom of God? Do you wish you had certainty about it? Here is what the Lord Jesus had to say about it:
"Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein." Luke 18:17.
What did Jesus mean by these words? Notice that Jesus said, "receive" the kingdom; He did not say "work for" or "earn" the kingdom. How then can we be sure to receive the kingdom of God as a little child and truly enter therein?
To know what Jesus meant we have to understand how a little child receives, since this is what Jesus requires of anyone who wishes to enter the kingdom of God. Have you ever noticed how a little child receives things, let's say from his parents or grandparents? Think about it for a while. By observation we know that little children receive without any inclination that they ought to EARN or DESERVE what is given to them. It does not occur to them that they should first become worthy or deserving. It is clear that little children always receive in humility and without reservations.
They display an absence of pride and self-sufficiency; they receive without works and without merit. They do not feel the need to prove that they deserve what is given to them. They do not measure their worthiness of the gift by their own goodness or lack of it. They do not think to bring the question of their own merits into the equation....they simply receive.
This is the point that Jesus was making. He is saying that this is the way that we need to receive the greatest gift that anyone can ever receive -- the gift of God, which is eternal life in His kingdom.
The reason we need to receive it as a little child is, try as we may, we can never earn or deserve it through our own merits, goodness or performance. Thinking that we can deserve it is deception and pride. God, the almighty Creator, is holy and righteous and cannot look upon any sin -- His standard is perfection. Even if we have failed only once to fulfill the smallest commandment in the law of God, we still fall short of that perfection. The Bible says that: "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
We have all failed to keep God's moral law, the 10 commandments perfectly; we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We can never change our imperfection and make ourselves acceptable to God by trying to be good.
Isaiah 64:6 says: "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
God is a holy and righteous judge and therefore has to punish sin. But He is also love and does not want to damn anyone to eternal punishment in hell. So He made salvation possible to anyone who would believe Him and be willing to receive it from Him as a gift. He, the Creator, chose to come down from heaven and to become flesh like us and to pay the penalty for all our sin. The penalty for our sin is death. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Now what does the Bible say about the love of God? John 3:16-18: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
By wholeheartedly trusting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins on the cross, and receiving the free gift of salvation and the forgiveness of sins by His grace, anyone, regardless of the magnitude of their sins, can have the forgiveness of all their sins and be born again by the Spirit of God, receiving from Him the gift of eternal life.
Isn't it amazing that God was willing to take the punishment for our sin upon Himself? He is unlike anything that we will encounter in this dark world that has been marred by man's rebellion and Satan's subsequent evil dominion through sin.
God created mankind with a free will to choose for themselves what they will and will not believe, and what they will and will not receive. He will never force His love or His gifts on anyone. He will never force anyone to have a relationship with Him. Yet He wants to become your Father by giving you the new birth through His Holy Spirit as you trust in Jesus Christ alone for redemption from the eternal penalty of your sin.
The only way that we can receive eternal life in the kingdom of God is to receive it from Him as a free gift. It is not available to us in any other way. We can never earn the things of God.
The Bible makes it clear: "For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
      Romans 10:9-11,13
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Why don't you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead? Why don't you call on His name and be saved? He is longing for you to receive His Gift and be saved from the wrath to come.
      Titus 3:4-7
"But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
      Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
      Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
      Kindly share this message.

      @thewaythetruthandthelife3602 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

There is only one place of safety, one place of salvation: the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ that paid the debt of our sin. Our biggest mistake is to think that Christ's sacrifice alone is not enough, that we have to add our holiness and works to it to make it effective.
      Romans 10:3-4
[3]For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
[4]For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
The truth is that if we try to add anything to what Christ has done, we negate what He has done, we make it ineffective on our part. It is like this: Jesus plus nothing equals everything, but Jesus plus anything equals nothing.
To receive the payment of our sin-debt (past, present and future sins) we only need to believe the good news from God, that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day (see 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
It is by believing the good news about Christ's blood sacrifice as the full and final payment for our sins that we receive the gift of salvation and eternal life from God.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It is not about saying a prayer and inviting Christ into your heart and becoming a religious person. This won't save you. It's about believing and receiving what Jesus has done to pay the debt of your sin through His blood sacrifice. When we truly believe this, God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts and that is the moment we are born again and are given the righteousness of Christ in our spirits as a free gift.
God's standard is perfection, and Jesus is that standard. Only His righteousness is acceptable to the Father. We can only receive His righteousness by believing in His blood atonement for our sins. Our salvation is a free gift from the Father through what Christ has done to pay for our sins.
Faith is our part. It is our believe that what Jesus did for us is real, that it is true, and that we just humble ourselves and receive it as a free gift from the Father. And we continue to firmly believe this truth, every day.
If you are not covered by the blood of Jesus you are not saved. We get covered by the blood by believing that only His blood sacrifice could atone for our sins. Our religious works will not save us in the Day of Judgement. We get covered by the blood by believing the Gospel as presented in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4:
      [1]Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
[2]By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      [3]For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
[4]And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
We can't make it to heaven on our own righteousness, they are as filthy rags. We can only make it being clothed in Jesus's righteousness. We cannot add to what Jesus did to make it more effective. We can just receive what He did for us as the full and final payment that a holy and righteous God required for our sins. It is His perfection, His obedience, that saves us, not ours.
      Romans 5:19
[19]For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
      Romans 1:16-17
[16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
      Hebrews 10:38
[38]Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
      Galatians 3:10-11
[10]For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
[11]But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
      Habakkuk 2:4
[4]Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
      Romans 11:6
[6]And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
      Romans 3:26-28
[26]To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[27]Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
[28]Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
      Romans 4:4-8
[4]Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
[5]But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
[6]Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
[7]Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
[8]Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
      Romans 5:1,9
[1]Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[9]Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
      Hebrews 10:10,14,17,19,22-23
[10]By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[14]For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
[17]And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
[19]Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
[22]Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
[23]Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
      Revelation 1:5
[5]And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
All glory to Jesus Christ! for only He has done wonderfully.

      Titus 3:4-7
"But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
      Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
      Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
      Kindly share this message.

      [1]Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
[2]By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      [3]For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

@@thabanemaduna I never saw this comment
This happened in 2009, I was alone in a student house almost everyone had gone home since it’s was during the time of the school holidays. I had not gone home due to finances.
This particular day I slept like any other day. During the night I saw my body on my three quarter bed. Even though I had separated from my fleshly body what was amazing nothing was missing in me I was complete. I remembered everything. How my soul separated from my fleshly body this is how?
It was like I was taking off my clothes, it’s then I realized after this that my flesh is just a garment given how I took it off it was as though I was undressing myself. Another thing i realized is that to die is not painful, when the spirit separate from the body it’s not a painful experience. What is painful or beautiful is the journey you are embarking on.
Alright let me proceed. My soul started flying . There were two people holding me one at the right and one at the left. Nothing made me curious to want to know who were those people holding me.
Ok, i flew my journey was going down, it was like I’m going down a hole, a dark one. No one told me where I was going, I just new that I was going to hell. The pain itself of the direction I was taking not even reached the place was unbearable. You won’t wish it even to your worst enemy. That’s why I always cringe when people play with words like ‘’ go to hell, hell no’’ if people new about he’ll they would not be using such words on people no matter it’s a joke, you don’t joke like that, he’ll is not a joke.
Having lost all your family members including your parents is nothing compared to that pain of going down that direction. I guess God new how frightened I was just by the mere direction, I did not reach the place but to me that was painful enough.
So going to the hell direction almost seeing the dark hole I screamed the name of Jesus. Immediately after I called upon His Name the direction of my soul changed. It was like some one driving a car then they realise that they have taken the wrong direction then they change the way, that was how my soul operated. I called the Name of Jesus as I have said then I went up. Bare in mind, there are only two ways Up Or Down, Hell or Heaven. I went up remember this happened at night. Whilst I was right there next to the sky going up I doubted myself that it can’t be me going to heaven after the sins I have been doing. After the doubt occurred my soul direction changed immediately going back to where I was frightened of going. When I saw that I was going back down I shouted the Name of Jesus three times with so much boldness that’s when my soul went back up with so much speed as a bullet. I passed the sky with the stars just far above the sky I saw a very big white wall made of a white tent. I did not see the start or end. I opened the small part of the tent and my eyes where brighten with so much light. Then I woke up from my bed.
When the students from the place I was staying at came back from the school holidays, one of them said to me I look so much bright, like the glory something like that. I had forgotten what had happened to me. It’s when I remembered that it could be the light I came in contact with at the end.
I see everything thing that happened in this experience the highlight is the pain I felt going to the direction of hell. Whenever I talk about this story it’s like it happened yesterday. There are still days now in my life I just become frightened by the though of death. However God through His grace will sustain us.

    BELIEVE LIKE A CHILD
Is it perhaps your desire to enter the kingdom of heaven?
Little children truly know how to receive a gift. They display an absence of pride and self-sufficiency; they simply receive without works and without merit. They do not feel that they first have to earn or deserve what is given to them. They do not measure themselves by their own performance and try to judge whether they should be considered worthy of the gift. They do not think to bring the question of their own merits or goodness into the equation.
This, dear friend, is the simple point that Jesus was making. He is saying that this is the way that we need to receive the greatest gift that anyone can ever receive -- the gift of eternal life in His kingdom.
The reason we need to receive it as a little child is because, try as we may, we can never earn or deserve it through our own merits, goodness or performance. God Almighty is holy and righteous and cannot look upon sin; His standard is perfection. Even if we have failed only once in our lifetime to fulfill even the smallest commandment in the law of God, we fall short of that perfection. The Bible states that:
"All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
We all have failed to keep God's moral law, the 10 commandments perfectly; we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. We can never change our imperfection and make ourselves acceptable to God by trying to be good.
    Isaiah 64:6 says:
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
God is holy and righteous and therefore has to punish sin. The Bible also reveals that God is love and does not want anyone to be damned to an eternity in hell. So the Creator Himself chose to become flesh and to pay the penalty for our sin, which is death.
    John 3:16-18 states:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
By simply trusting wholeheartedly in the finished work of Jesus, who lived a perfect and sinless life and died for our sin on the cross, and by receiving this free gift of the forgiveness of sin and eternal life by His grace, anyone, regardless of what terrible sins they may have committed, can be be born again by the Spirit of God and receive the gift of eternal life.
This is how good God is: He was willing to take the punishment for our sin upon Himself. He is unlike anything that we will ever encounter in this dark world that has been marred by man's rebellion and sin and Satan's subsequent evil dominion.
God created mankind with a free will to choose for themselves what they will and will not believe, and what they will and will not receive. He will never force His love and gifts on anyone. He will never force anyone to have a relationship with Him. In His mercy and love He offers it but still allows everyone to choose to receive it, or not to receive it. The Bible says that God is love. He is a God of mercy and grace. Mercy means that we do not get the judgment, condemnation and punishment that we deserve. Grace means that we get all the good from God that we do not deserve. God is both -- He is both merciful and gracious.
Our human pride is what leads us to think that we somehow have to earn or deserve God's favour and gifts through our own performance, good conduct and meritorious deeds. But that is deception. We tend to reason that we first have to become 'good enough' before God would forgive us and accept us and allow us entrance into His kingdom. We don't realise that God requires perfection. So we focus on ourselves instead of on what Jesus has done for us through His perfect, finished work on the cross and the complete payment He has made for all our sins, past, present and future, through His blood sacrifice.
To receive what Jesus did for us requires humility and faith, both of which is found in abundance in a little child.
Thinking that we ought to merit the things of God will actually prevent us from receiving them, for it is contrary to the way a little child receives. It CANNOT be earned by us. It was earned on our behalf by what Jesus Christ has done for us and we just have to receive it as a gift. If indeed we could earn it then it would mean that we would have opportunity to boast in ourselves. Yet, our imperfect performance can never satisfy God's standard of perfection.
The only way that we can receive eternal life in the kingdom of God is to receive it from Him as a free gift. It is not available to us in any other way. We can never earn the things of God.
The Bible makes it very clear:
"For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Having said all this we can see how our human pride can be a major hindrance to our receiving from Him, not only the free gift of eternal life and the complete forgiveness of our sins that would secure our entrance into the kingdom of God through being born again, but everything else that we need and that He has provided for us by His grace in Christ; things like healing, provision and blessing. God is truly a good, good God. But we can only receive from Him if we are willing to receive as a little child. My earnest prayer is that you do.
God wants us to repent of our sins and trust in Jesus like we would trust a parachute. He is our only hope of rescue and salvation from God's righteous judgement on sin. Believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried and rose again from the dead on the third day and God will forgive all your sins and accept you and make you a new creature in Christ.
    P.s.
    Titus 3:4-7
"But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
    Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life."
    Amen.
