Not much is known about a man named Hur. He is described as a friend of Moses and one of the judges of the people. He came into the spotlight for a day to help hold up Moses' hands during the battle of the Israelites with the Amalekites. Once his torturous task was completed, he disappeared from the scene.
Similarly, in our church, we have people like Hur who are often invisible, unappreciated, less known, and mostly unheard of. They are the silent, active servants of God who minister to the needs of His church. Although they are unseen, they are equally, if not more, vital for the practical functions of the church. Their humility is profound, and they cherish the praises of God more than the recognition of men.
Praise God for people like Hur.
