Every time I see a piece by Crystal Pite, I am speechless and transfixed. The first time I saw this excerpt, I sat in silence for a very long time. Then I played it again. And again. And again. For me there is a profound sense of reset and renewal. Experiencing her work live, you can feel the audience, the collective sensation... not many creators have that ability.
Crystal Pite's creativity is simply... extraordinary!!!!
Crystal Pite is truly why I care about modern dance. She is wildly innovative. This is something that is comparable - if not greater than - any earlier choreographic forms.
I miss going to the opera, I miss Paris , Amsterdam , Bangkok , Hanoi but most London.
I love Paris for the cultural aspect. So much to do n see, I can’t wait to say to hi to the opera😃❤️

To the average person, this may look simple, but as dancers it is our job to make it look simple when in reality it is more physically demanding than most other sports. Nobody can ever say dance is easy until they have perfected the presentation and technique required to execute each masterpiece. I have done many sports in the past and once I started dance, nothing could pull me from it. Now my 10th year doing it and I’m nowhere near perfect but that’s the thing, there is always a learning curve.
Who can dare to say that dance is easy ??

Max richters work is really given a masterful display in movement. i take this on top of a mountain in Oahu hawaii and listen as the sun is coming up!!!!
the unisex wardrobe is always a nice touch. I find it soothing to the soul and also less distracting, so we can concentrate on the dancing.

I've been trying to find a full recording of this ballet for years and still no luck. So much of ballet and opera is behind locked doors for many of us.

Tiene la capacidad de trasladarte dentro dei grupo , por la riqueza de movimientos . Es fascinante el equilibrio , armonía y sintonía entre contemporaneo-clásico o clásico-contemporaneo .
Danza de autor conceptual conocedor del espacio escénico ,donde traslada el alma.

C'est une danse ou plus exactement une chorégraphie dans l'idéalité de notre temps ;
laquelle chorégraphie nous fait concevoir d'une autre manière des sentiments, une manière qui n'est ni du sentimentalisme ni de la sentimentalité (souvent excessifs),
mais des ressentis propres à notre époque et sur une musique expressive qui est elle, de toutes les époques
et cerise sur le gâteau, le tout exprimé par une bande de mecs (trop romantiques ces garçons ! 😉)
