I think the singing style and music is very retro American but that is about it. I do not think Disney represents America at all I think Disney represents Disney which is it's own creation. I know I did not care for the song because it just seemed to be just a little too Bubble Gum Pop for me. If you look at when Christina Augularia(sp) does this sort of stuff like her song "Candy Man" the music has real instruments not fake sounding instruments and the vocals and music are over the top with lots of dynamics, intensity, and layers. For me the vocals and instruments in this video sounded really weak and thin like something a kid would do on his laptop with no real musicians and bad mic.'s! With this style of music you have to really bring it or it just comes off sounding weak, cheap and half hearted. They had a lot of good ingredients in the video and in the song but they never really seemed to tie it all together. I would suggest watching or listening to "Candy Man" then listening to this song.
