    about a year ago I was in a similar situation. I have about 21 guitars. somehow I came to a realization that I have too many and I didn't have time to play them all. they were just all collecting dust. so I started selling and trading them. within a year I went from 21 to 9. the wife was much happier coz she got her space back. fortunately for me she cannot tell the difference from a custom shop to a production guitar.

      Love all your Gibson electrics. I only own one. I play more acoustic, but have a tele and strat, schecter, also had to get a warlock in a coffin case. You look about my age? late 50. Like the older inst. also. All in cases. Just today picked up a Taylor solid body, like strat in burgandy case, not for sale stamped on back. History? Was from a guitar collector. Super clean from GC. I liked the fact you told a little about each one and never bragged about what you got. Like me our collection is priceless to us. Admire what you got and take care of your things too.

    Love your taste. Hardtails rule!! Haha. Gibson, G&L, Hamer, PRS...Rock on! 🤟
    P.S. Woulda loved to hear THE PRS with the Burstbucker in the bridge... I've often wondered how a PRS would sound with Gibson pickups. Y'know...to hear how much of the Gibson tone is in the body...and how much the pickup.
    Being that PRS has a similar build, if a little sleeker, the fantasy is that you could end up with over 80% of the Gibson tone, with all the playability of a PRS.
    I know I'm many years late here, but....care to weigh on that?

    It's evident you have tons of experience with Gibson type guitars. Given the range of guitars you've acquired with humbucker and P-90 pickups, I wonder what you think of the differences between the two pickup types, and the tonal differences you experience with different style pickups on Gibson-like guitars. I'll appreciate hearing as much as you care to say on the subject. Thanks.

    How do you rate the Korean Hamer against the USA Hamer? I've just picked up a Korean Hamer and it's a better guitar than my Gibson Les Paul.

    • @wolkarcade
      @wolkarcade  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +niptodstan I really like Hamer's even the Korean ones, my Korean one stays in tune so much better than most of my Gibson's. I changed out the stock pups for some GFS Mean 90's P90 sized humbuckers. As far as the Korean VS the USA, the USA is a better build and does have a better feel overall.

    So funny how you don't care for a Paul Reed Smith custom 24 but the Hamer Korean Guitar is a keeper and ya got to think what to do about the squire lol! Here's a plan Get rid of the G & L guitars first. Keep the following: PRS Mira X, 75 Les Paul and Classic, PRS custom 24, 01 Fender stratocaster and a fender telecaster standard, Gibson es359 really all ya need Or of value. Guitars that's modded can be skittish when value comes to play.

    • @wolkarcade
      @wolkarcade  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Korean Hamer isn't the keeper, it is the USA Hamer Gold top. But thank you for your input, personally I love G&L's feel they are built exceptionally well!

  • @damo690
    @damo690 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    that white strat with the green pick gard is not actually a squire series. it is an American traditional series and very easily mistaken for a squire series as they are both very simular. a squire series has a tiny logo on its headstock saying squire series. these were made in the squire factory when there had been a fire in the fender mexican plant. it's believed they have an American crafted neck and body. most of the bodies are poplar wood with great sustain. electric components weren't that great though. I have one of these myself. there was only a limited number made. most of them are from 1996, it was one of fenders 50th anniversaries and there should be a gold label on the back of the headstock stating that. they still say that they are made in Mexico though but with a black logo.

    • @jonathanwolk3401
      @jonathanwolk3401 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      damo690 thanks for watching, but it is a Squire Series made in Japan, the prior owner scraped off the Squire Series from the top of the headstock.

    Suggestion: Next vid, don't waste the viewer's time with watching you unload each case.
    That was about a 6-7 minute video that took 22:48 to wade through. And get yourself a
    real nice acoustic guitar. a Yamaha and an Alvarez don't come close to equaling one
    Taylor, Martin, Gibson, Larrivee, whatever you choose for a higher end axe. You will be
    happy you did that, guaranteed.

    i am not really a Gibby fan, more Strats for me but my Hero Marriott Played P90 sooo.. lol, when i tried the Jr. it seemed weird because they made the Fingerboard Wider, but it felt fine when i played, but i will attribute that to the fact that i have a lot of Guitars and play every night now so everything seems easier, also i have the Jr. on Lay away and i bought it because it was Cheap, because i have a Couple other P90 axes now so the Jr was the price that got me, oh and the case lol...

    I love the collection, I’m glad to see you have real cases instead of gag bags, I noticed you have a lot of duplication. multiple telecasters, les paul‘s, Paul Reed Smith’s
    My collection: 2009 Gibson Les Paul standard gold top, 1963 Gibson ES 330 TDC, which I have owned since 1969. Schecter C1 black jack .Ibanez AK 85 .. 1959 fender jazz master that I have owned since 1966, don’t really like it. It doesn’t sound great it doesn’t play great it doesn’t feel great. I don’t get why people like Jazzmasters. Taylor 210 e.. takamine Korean made 544- love it better than my Taylor..Yamaha AES 800 ..Brian Moore I:13 Roland ready synth guitar.. Ibanez 370..epiphone les paul 56 replica, I like this guitar so much that I never touch my USA Gibson Les Paul standard. Love the P 90s on this, no comparison to the Gibsons HH..I have 2 Yamaha Pacificas,012 & 312.. these are much better playing guitars than the fender Stratocaster‘s I have had, because of these two Yamaha’s, I do not own a strat, like the Yamaha’s better, much better..2004 Squire 51. A sales flop at first, then fender made this guitar & called it the Pawn shop model. Slightly smaller Strat body with a telecaster neck, single coil at the neck, hum bucker at the bridge w- coil tap..One volume control, the second knob that looks like the tone control is the pick up selector, there is no tone control. This guitar is the very first squire that fender copied...epiphone dot..Finally, my sister bought me a guitar from a second hand store for my birthday. An Esteban midnight Legacy..Solid body all black three single coil, sort of like a Les Paul Junior ,actually, it ain’t bad, TH-cam reviews like it too..
    amplifiers, peavey classic 50 tweed 4/10, classic 30 tweed, Deltablues tweed,Fender cyber twin, Hughes and Kettner Zen combo, Laney TF 300, crate CA30 acoustic,And my favorite amp. I believe it was the very first digital modeling amplifier, crate DX 112. I had a crate DX 212 when they first came out in 1999. I sold it to a buddy that had to have it right now, I missed it for years and ended up buying another one, I actually think that the112 with a single 12 sounds better than the 212 with the 2-12inch speakers..It’s easy to dial-in the sounds, effects, recall, it just sounds great and it’s easy to dial in different sounds right now, my favorite amp.. I forgot one, a peavey RAM bass head w- 4/10 cab, also a modeler with many many guitar effects, flanger, phaser, reverb, echo, delay, and more...Cab simulation..very powerful, no one‘s ever heard of it,head weighs about 50 pounds
    That’s it, but I am constantly scanning craigslist musical instruments in the surrounding area for the next one

    Nice collection. I like the Les Paul Custom and PRS Mira best. Did you ever consider consolidating some of your redundant guitars into really nice ones? For example sell the 5 or 6 G&L/Fender Teles and buy a nice Fender Custom Shop Tele. Same with handful of strats (G&L and Fender). Sell them and buy an awesome Fender Custom Shop Strat or a Grosh NOS Retro. Sell the Less Plus, Classic and Norlin-era LP Deluxe as you already have a sweet LP Custom. Obviously to each his own but consolidating into to 4-5 really nice guitars would allow you to clear space and have time to play them all! Anyway, keep rocking!

    Interesting to see this collection. I liked the look of several here including the Hamer models but I think that my two favourites were probably the 1975 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe and also the last Telecaster (1991 model with the mini-humbucker in the neck position) that was featured.

    • @wolkarcade

      No problem, Hardtail means having a fixed bridge, no tremolo system.
