    Great video. Love the sound of big trout wallowing around in the water.

    Great lures, I fish those year round... they have amazing action as you said. Wind kicks up I'll bend the tail and they spin all funky but the trout love it sometimes.

      Daniel Guillette yeah, I only do the super bend fishing slower /deeper.

    Dude the Paul Brown Fatty Texas Chicken is a smoker! I was walking the dog, steady retrieve, twitching & the 20" plus size was smoking it on every cast!
    Never had 1 spit it also.
    They'll pull that Rod from your hand!
    I have them all know.
    I limited out my 1st time using the TX Chicken in 10min off the Quintana Jetties when everyone else was catching nothing! I had guys offering me $50 for that lure but at the time, in late June it was all I had.
    I slightly bent the nose & tail down & attached to a clip. It was on baby!

    Rod stiffness matter much? I usually use stiffer rods but I know trout guys like more flexible. Is this for hook set or just working the bait?

    • @TroutSupport
      @TroutSupport 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      travis hudson Are use a medium light fast action. But you could also use anything from a medium light extra fast all the way to a medium heavy would be fine. I do believe there is more sensitivity with a lighter blank that has the just right amount of flex n back bone

    On 7:13 you mentioned "all the basics" regarding color of lures, or in this case, paul brown fat boys, could you clarify what the "basics" are? I am new to the paul browns and i wanted to learn about the color options for conditions, etc. Thank you!! Awesome trout!

    • @TroutSupport
      @TroutSupport 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      General color theory is really just for us humans. The fish really don’t care much about color except possibly in the gin clear high pressure areas of Florida. Even still many of the same colors catch fish coast wide. General color theory gives YOU a place to start so you can fish with confidence. Without that we don’t present lures very well nor respond to strikes accordingly.
      Light day - light color
      Dark day - dark color
      Clear water - natural colors
      Dirty water - unnatural colors.
      That’s really all you need to know except for leaning how to find the fish... that’s 90% more important.
      Within the above just pick a couple colors for your water and then get confident by using them and catching fish... when in doubt on color... remind yourself that fish don’t care, they didn’t get some memo telling them what color we think is best... they feed on movement. Color plays a very small part of it. Very small.

    Hey man i know this is an old video but i was just watching your latest video and i had a real quick question for ya. I assume you were using google earth to show where you were fishing. Im jw is that a free version? How do you get that great of a view of the water depths etc

    • @TroutSupport
      @TroutSupport ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it’s Google Earth the program, not Google satellite. In the program look for ‘history slider’ or historic aerials I’ll do a video on that this winter.

    You mentioned of using this on 6-8feet deep water. How shallow this lure can be use?

    • @TroutSupport
      @TroutSupport 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      iggychloe iggy they can be used in a foot if walked fast, or if you use the floater version. Now if it’s really grassy that might be hard if there is floating grass. But if no floating grass just use the floater. (Hint it just sinks slower it doesn’t float).

      It’s just TH-cam trying to get more ads in front of you, same for Facebook… that’s what they do. I had a great spring last year and we caught a lot of big trout. I’ll try to put more up this fall.

      David M yeah, only the important information to training is relevant in my videos. The first spot just didn’t pan out. Big trout are not every where... we’re lucky to catch 2-3 per season. Most people hope to catch 1 in their lifetime.
