La musique électronique de Jean-Michel Jarre, souvent, nous transporte vers l'espace ! Surtout les premiers albums : "OXYGENE", "EQUINOXE".... Cette ambiance, très lente, que nous retrouvons ici, en concert, peut nous faire penser à long voyage dans l'espace, très long voyage, vers l'infini…. comme ce vaisseau spatial dans le film "2001, l'odyssée de l'espace". Je crois que, dans l'histoire de la musique, c'est vraiment ce qui fait l'originalité et la spécificité de Jean-Michel Jarre, à savoir cette capacité de nous transporter vers des espaces infinis, vers un monde paisible, à partir d'un ensemble harmonieux de sons électroniques. C'est peut-être un génie, je ne sais pas.

Was in the used CD shop before the COVID and purchased an early Jean Michel Jarre CD in pristine condition. Where most CD's were going for $3-5 they charged me $18 for the one I purchased, timeless and, valued.
I don't know how much i would have paid to see this actual concert if I'd had the chance, but I'm sure it would have put me in debt. So magnificent. There is just nothing like it. I don't know how many times I've revisited the Oxygene suite, there's no point in keeping track. You go back to it when you have to.
I saw it 4 differents nights, I was lucky to live in Paris during this concert. Theses concerts were wonderfull intimist experience, so glad I was lucky to see/hear it. Fun fact, you can hear me shouting at the very beginning of part 6, I was here for this captation-night.
I had the luck to visit his Oxygene Tour back in 2008! I was only 7 y/o back then :) Saw him in 2009, 2011 and 2016 again. Yep, I was a hardcore Jarre-Fan as a child, I still am haha.

I was at the Destination Docklands Concert in London in 1986 but because it was an outdoor performance & before Aero 360 sound had been invented by JMJ & used in outdoor performances the acoustics were rubbish & the sound just reverberated around canary wharf. I think his music is more suited to indoor auditoriums & indoor venues like this one where the acoustics are better!

I remember a movie from my childhood, I think it was a popular science film showing the cosmos and in this film it was put on Oxygene 1. And probably a lot of people must have seen this film, because everyone associates Oxygene 1 with the cosmos and it reminds me too with space. And the very beginning of Oxygene 1 is in my opinion ... nooo ... no words, how beautiful it is.
There is an interesting video of King Penguins in the Antarctic living and dying to music of Oxygene. Like outer space the Antarctic can be unforgiving and, sets the tone well for music with such character as Oxygene, it is the contrast in an artistic way with only black and white.
There is also a video of the SR71 taking off and in flight at 80,000 feet to the tune of Oxygene. Again the artistic contrast of something beautiful and something as harsh and ugly as a machine of death. Flying to the music of the period when electronic music was first introduced. These are the images today's Millennials fail to capture, in their internet, smartphone World, the contrast associated during the Cold War between United States and the Soviet Union.

I attended the first concert of this tour in Marigny, he had problems with the memory moog when he was playing oxy-2. It was a very special concert... will remember it for always.

I went to a concert in this tour in Riga.
What was incredible at this concert was the sound sensation. A kind of velvet coming out of the synths. Something that can't be burned to a disc.
i was high, I listened to this concert almost falling asleep, I didn't sleep, and at some point was leaving my physical self. no joke here
I once zoned out in this way during a gig. It wouldn’t have been an issue, except I was playing keyboards at the time…
bought this album in '77 in the Uk, played it and played it...still play one of the many versions I have of this almost daily...

Ive been a fan of JMJ for decades. I still have a lot of his early releases on LP.
More than 12 years and still playing as 2019, hopefully again some concerts from JMJ !
