I need help for setting motor start delay. My atlas gp 40-2 with Loksound 5. There is a delay before locomotive starts to move. It is ho scale green BN. Of my 6 locomotives, only this one has start delay. I am using decoder pro

CV 54 =0 there still may be some delay like thedash 9 I have. Also put cv 3 and 4 at 0

I have an athearn genesis and my start delay is more like 6 seconds at speed step 5. CV 3-4 are at 0 -1, I changed cv 54 from 50 and and down still delay. Frustrated!

Great information! I'm less than a year into the hobby so still learning a lot. I have a couple of Athearn Genesis (my Walthers Proto and Atlas Gold units run perfectly) locomotives that were giving me problems especially as they came to a stop. The would slowly come to a stop and then jerk slightly a couple of times until they finally did stop. I put CV54 (BEMF effect) from 50 to 255 and CV55 from 100 to 10 and it solved the issue. I will continue to test and see if I can back this number down (not sure if I need to). I too prefer fine control of low speed operations and will definitely implement your suggestions. Thanks again!

I know it's 3 years but BEMF at 255!? I have 2 scaletrains that just have no speed. I go 99% throttle and it's like 25 mph. Crazy.

@@FirstnameLastname-tp4zw That particular loco is very unusual, maybe the motor has some internal anomaly. The thing about your ScaleTrains low speed, I assume you checked the top speed and midrange speed CV settings, 5 and 6. Also check your CV53 reference voltage and put it at 140.

Wonder why esu doesn’t allow cv2 to be set at zero? My locomotives run great with v5 decoders but I get a small jerk when applying the throttle.

With the Loksound 5....Can you do a video on the BEMF. Showing what ALL the functions on the Load Control / back EMF, Motor overload Protection and PWM Frequency CVs do to the Loco and why they have been included in the Lokprogrammer Software.....for us Tech savy hobbyists.
    Thanks

Good video - I have a question. I want my engine to start/move immediately when I hit the button or move the wheel. There's about a 3 second delay on this - then it starts to move. Do you know what CV that would be to make that happen? I'm using a NCE Power Cab and the momentum is off. Thanks in advance.

      Hi
Pro Scale Models , in the Driving Characteristics you have to set the acceleration adjustments to zero
