Can you please point to the follow-up video to this as I'd really like to know "how this works" I can see how squaring the signal can remove phase sensitivity (for a bi-phase system). But would the "d" term not also be squared such that d=+/-1 results in fixed +1 output. i.e. Data content no longer present? Also, what about difference between Tx and Rx frequencies? Without a PLL, there would always be some difference..
