KMS Scharnhorst is NOT a battlecruiser, it is a fast battleship, it’s not just the guns that are different, armor is a critical difference. Graf Spee is an armored ship or Panzerschiffe, but later re-classified as heavy cruisers.
Scharnhorst can be REALLY good, but this is not a Beginner Ship. Those guns are PUNY for BBs of the Tier, you have to know where to shoot ships for AP Damage, or use HE. The Torpedoes make great defense, but unless you are confident, don't rush with em, it'll end badly. Scharnhorst will make a ton of credits for you and quickly, but it may take some time in the ship to figure it out. Overall, I think the Scharnhorst is GOOD, but it's not going to perform every time. You get into a T7 match, you might have a bad day.
It can be solid even at tier 7
@@SpartanElite43Only problem is the huge gap between t7 ships, and idk why, but Scharnhorst feels like it has less armour than Gniesenau, and using the guns wrong can catch you out, was so focused on a Veneto one time that I caught him full broadside round a corner and shot his lower belt, all shatters.. devastating, but my own fault
And of course, you have the Odin.
Shes a good ship but she wont be the best in every situation
Never understood why everybody loved Scharnhorst until I used her. She takes a bit to learn but she is very solid. I still don't ever remember a time where I was actually scared because I was facing a Sharnhorst but I do see the appeal now.

Scharnhorst is probably one of my fav tier 6 battleships cause it’s accurate and reloads quick and can tank damage and can slap too

That being said I know how hard it can be to start the conversation with your family.
Took me 34 years to finally come to that point.
I just didn't want to spend the rest of my life hiding.
I still struggle a lot as I live in a pretty backward area and it's terrifying for me to go out in public.

@SpartanElite43 I couldn't care less if you are trans. Wouldn't have even known if you hadn't said anything. The only thing that matters is that YOU are happy with yourself.
KMS Scharnhorst is a brawler, the 11 inch guns are not strong enough against heavily armored battleships, but you can use that ship against destroyers and cruisers. Use HE against angled ships and destroyers, and AP against broadside ships, even battleships.

I received the Scharnhorst in a crate, I use the Azur Lane Bismarck commander (Don't have the Scharnhorst commander) and I'm wondering what else could be a good build in terms of fast reload
And that's why the Scharnhorst is a fantastic battlecruiser to play....

I love the Shiny Horse but she has to be played right. A cruiser killer and battle ship helper, her speed is so helpful. Such a great looking ship also but that low bow kept her "wet" in open seas
I've got both the regular Scharnhorst and the Scharnhorst B, it's a ship I don't play often but enjoy when I do. Decent guns if a bit small, nice torpedoes reasonable secondaries and to be fair I consider her to be a BC too.
What’s your build just the full secondary? I’ve always used Otto with Hipper and back forth with Madden, Direvel, Cunn. She’s my third most used ship but also my only ship with under 50% win rate, at 49%. I also usually struggle to even get near 100k damage most games with her, yet I still usually have fun and get a few kills at a time. I’m a US BB main lol
I just used my usual Hyde build with Hipper and haruna as inspirations
Props to that california for understanding his situation (even if it was only because you told him) I've seen plenty of BB players who just rush into that sort of situation and just devour every torpedo. it'd good to know the capabilities of ships and the Gnevny as a russian DD has laughable torpedo range and thus can't chase targets well while renown is lightly armored her guns are 15 inch and pack a wollop catching most off guard with her shorter than average reload speed. so the right thing to do in that situation was to tactically retreat
One time not even a minute in one match, both my torpedo tubes instantly got destroyed on my prince Heinrich.

I'm running just the standard Hyde build secondaries
The first bar of the ship's HP, usualy doesn't represent 5000 HP, because if would the ships could only have HP numbers that could be multiplied by 5000
It's not perfect but it's close
Funny thing is scharnhorst was my first ever purchased premium ship when i started playing. I have the most games in it. Aside from being overzealous to get the torps off at the end you played her pretty damn well. I generally use her high rate of fire, good armor, speed and manueveability to charge at enemies forcing them to make moves that expose they're weak spots..if they choose to charge in repsomse they know ive got torps..which forces them to respect it.

I was there during the stream way back when you bought it live.
The big thing with the Scharnhorst is at its best as a cruiser killer. If you are using it against a BB keep the distance open and snipe with it. Using it like 35 thousand ton DD will get you heading back to port.

A good player will get good results in Scharnhorst. It’s an incredibly high skill floor for a German BB. But it’s this weird aggressive flanker playstyle, kinda like Flandre
Reload and German HE pen make it viable at tier 7 too

Scharnhorst is a fast battleship, not a battle cruiser. The Deutschland class (Graf Spee in Legends) was a Panzerschiff, which you could argue was more of a battle cruiser than the Scharnhorst class, as Scharnhorst was well armoured and had good speed, with smaller battleship guns, where as the Graf Spee was fast but not as heavily armoured, but had large guns for the size of the ship.
The 283mm guns of Scharnhorst are very small compared to most battleships of her time

@connertravanini773 I would argue that use is more indicative than nomenclature, Scharnhorst's mostly, if not exclusively, were used in battlecruiser missions.

I have earned a lot of credits with Scharnhorst. I have played 900 battles with it, 59% winrate. And 180 000 has been the max damage

You've gotta do enough to earn more than your service cost in the match. The higher the tier the higher the service cost

I could never get this ship to perform for me on the PC version. Occasionally I would have an awesome game but those were far few and in between.

Constellation is a highskill ceiling than Atlantico and Atlantico has nasty secondaries so it just comes down to your playstyle
A sharnhorst with a full secondary spamming ap and running around like a crackhead is fun and dangerous

Yes because I'm trying to hit as many shells as possible and the small guns unlikely to citadel the BBs
Also trying to avoid shatters and ricochets on the armor belt

we all play ships and classes we enjoy. spartan as a cc and game legend has to play ships that he doesnt enjoy for our benefit and amusement. in the early days battle cruisers were not a thing like they are today but he still hits it out of the park in what is a mediocre ship!

I love bullying the cruiser spartan I can smack dev strike so easy now and that I know how much to lead but I can’t hit citadel to save my life in high tier on battleships but oh if it’s a cruiser citadel dev strike no problem but I aim the same on broad side battleships with Iowa nothing just overpin the only way I get damage on them is with the super structure
