- From the US national archives, airplanes are assembled: fuselage spacers and wing fillets are cut from wood, wing assemblies wired and covered, fuselage sections assembled and sanded, and tail and wing sections attached to the fuselage. Planes take off, do loops, and land.

The highest tech of its time!
I read somewhere that constructing a WWI fighter took between 4,000 and 7,000 man hours and that the cost was equal to one of our modern stealth jets.
@@stejer211 very interesting. Thanks for sharing 🙌🙌
There's no way that's even close to true. You can work it out if you take the time but military tech today is several orders of magnitude more expensive(taking into account inflation) per unit than in early times of war such as WW1 or WW2.
Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing video 🙏🏻🩷
Very interesting, quality in every piece, the german way to do everything.
Thanks from the old German club of New Orleans 😇 !
Likely Johannisthal, Berlin, late 1916. Albatros D.II production with a D.III at 4:40 - also Albatros C.III at 5:15
Yep, those are Albatros'. It nice to see this type of historical footage. Thanks!
Please note: the video footage goes black after so many minutes and it runs a little over 32+ on the counter.
I cut the video down to the right timing just now, thank you for letting me know, much appreciated!
C'Est très rare, de voir! Des usines aéronautique allemande, de la guerre de 14-18! Merci pour le documentaire rarement vu. Salutations de France
The Albatros shown does not seem to have that small auxiliary lower wing strut added after wing failures.
it might be they used earlier versions for this footages!!
Great finding! I send the link to this video to the leading german aviation magazine/ historical department. Perhaps they try to contact you... 🙂
Thank you , I’m glad you found it interesting. Sure, looking forward to it. 🙌🙌
