It’s a jungle song he slowed down a bit and threw his rap in and then sting(Police) message in a bottle cover but a half key higher. He’s definitely an artist of the highest order. Kind of like Prince or Michael Jackson. Lucky to be around with music like this and an artist like him. Which is what the song is about. By the way…, it is a great song on its own… But Ren here just kills it with the his voice, the instrument breakdown,, and the harmonious back up singers. Ren referring to “back in 1974” is something Ren added, most likely because the vibe of this song and video is definitely reminiscent of 70’s soul/r&b. Even Kai with his post-beatnik look and chill demeanor, sets the tone here. The first verse is all “Back on 74” … the second is a mash up of the lyrics of “Back on 74” sung over the main riff from “Message in a Bottle”. Then the third part is Ren adding his own rap verse. And finally it drops full on into Message in a Bottle. All done so seamlessly as he did with the Fred Again mashup.
