im from North Carolina, lived here my whole my life, used to drive through Fayetville, down I-95 South( his song 95 South; is about fayetville which is where I-95 south runs throughs), on my way to Willmington. I remember when Cole was doing his shit in 2009 with Kendrick Lamar. Cole is super humble, and does so much for the community and supports North Carolina. Cole wont talk or do podcast about change, he will go back to home, go in the streets, stand with people and support the community. Cole is a real 1, been a fan for a long time.

James Brown "The Funky Drummer " is probably the track you're thinking of. That drum break is pretty much the basis/ origin of boom- bap beats. The drummer's name is Clyde Stubblefield. There are around 20 James Brown songs that are famously sampled too.
And Clyde has never been paid a cent for those samples. Dudes a god send

The James Brown sample you are thinking of is Funky Drummer. It was used in a ton of songs from the late 80s and early 90s. Public Enemy uses it in Bring tha Noize.

The limbo bar actually has a double meaning. You got the first one (going low and dodging bullets). The more philosophical meaning of limbo is a simultaneous state of existence and non existence. So he speaks to the kids playing with extendos saying "I hope you can be okay with existing now and being alive but also accepting your non existence because you can't partake in a normal society because of your choices that will eventually lead to your literal non existence being death." And speaking to innocent bystanders when they shoot saying "I hope you get low enough to dodge the bullets." Slick 🔥🔥🔥
