During our recent trip to Bali, we had the pleasure of visiting the laid-back town of Lovina. One of the highlights of our visit was seeing wild dolphins as they gracefully leaped in and out of the water in search of food. Because there is a bit of controversy surrounding the Lovina Dolphin Tour, we felt it was important to share our honest experience so you can make an informed decision for yourself.
We were fortunate enough to stay at the wonderful Lata Lama Villa, where we enjoyed cooking a delicious breakfast, taking a stroll along the rice fields, and having delicious meals with our friends. We highly recommend staying at Lata Lama Villa if you plan on visiting Lovina, and we won't hesitate to return the next time we're in North Bali.

Hello Mike & Ashley my friend I highly recommend to visit this beautiful places in Siargao Islands, Philiipines especially the breathtaking pure white sand beaches in Guyam Island, Daku Island & Naked Island. There is a direct daily flight from Manila going to Siargao Islands. There are lots of attraction to offer in General Luna, Siargao Islands
- Island Hopping in Naked Islands, Guyam & Daku Islands, it is closest islands in Siargao Mainland with white & palm trees.
- Sugba Lagoon Boat Tour with Kawhagan, it's truly a gem of a spots with 5 meters & 10 meters diving.
- Tagbayanga Cave Pool in Siargao Islands.
- Jeepney Land Tour with Magpupungko Rock Pool & Tayangban Caves, seeing the sights of Siargao as you explore caves, tidepools, palm-tree rope swings & palm tree viewpoint.

You guys should go to Banda neira (Maluku Island) if you want to have more epic experience. In fact, a prominent Indonesian independence figure once quoted "Do not die before going to Banda neira" - Sutan Syahrir.
In addition to its natural beauty, the island has a history as a place of political prisoners during the colonial Dutch Indies. The national figures who have lived on this island are Mohammad Hatta (The first vice president of Indonesia) Sutan Syahrir (the first Prime Minister of Indonesia) and Cipto mangunkusumo (A prominent Indonesian independence leader)
That sounds amazing! We will check it out for sure as we hope to be able to return to Indonesia and explore more of this beautiful country!
Dolphins and Whales are my favorites mammals of the sea, something about them are so majestic.. the underwater footage was absolutely amazing

Your vlog popped up and of course I watched the whole episodes of Bali! Now imagine if you were me, living in the US and watching your vlogs… Feeling very jealous!?? Absolutely!! I really miss that kind of atmosphere of quietness, friendliness and blending in with nature and Balinese cultures! Being a local (though a not Balinese - more of Javanese - the Joglo house you stayed in actually is a Javanese traditional house).

@@mikeandashley Well, when I was over in SE Asia, I was never on Borneo (even though it’d be awesome to be 😁), and Malaysia I was an International School teacher once back in 2016. So I know Malaysia, but do note, Thailand is my home for the years due to my long term job after job there there back long ago, and my hopes for coming back now!! 🇹🇭😁
We stayed on Peninsular Malaysia this trip, but hope to return to visit Borneo the next time. We had fun in Malaysia but are definitely happy to be back in Thailand! 🥰

Hello. 😊 Most are offered at sunrise, but you can find many skippers throughout the town offering tours and I’m sure you can find someone to do a custom tour at whatever time you like.

I couldn’t agree with you more. We mean no disrespect to the people who rely on this activity for income, but we wouldn’t personally book a tour involving animal sight seeing. We know that people have varying, strong opinions on either side of this matter.
We were invited to stay at this property along with our friends to showcase the home. We weren’t originally aware, but the host kindly provided this tour, as it’s the main thing to do in Lovina. The only thing we could do was insist that our skipper not chase the dolphins, and he was receptive and respectful. We appreciate your comment and your devotion to advocating for the animals. 🙏
