🥘 MEME’S RECIPES ON FACEBOOK: / memesrecipessc
This recipe makes me so happy. My grandmother made these. She passed away in 1973, and none of us had the recipe. I have tried to find it, until Sunday Lunch at Meme’s came out. There it was! Thank you so much!
My Grandmother did too and I never had the recipe till now
I have this recipe…my grandmother gave it to all of us…she called them date nut balls
You are one active MeMe and that is just one thing I love about you! My face hurts from grinning as you tell your family stories and recipes. I’ve never made date balls but they are now on my list. I don’t like the already chopped dates-they are too hard and dry. I use my kitchen shears to cut the dates. Much easier for me. Keep shining, dear one! You’re a great example for us.
Thank you so much!!
I love these things! You’re a fount of info for the good ole days when I was growing up and eating all these fabulous foods.
My husband likes to watch Monday night football. I like to watch MeMe on Monday nights! 😁 These look great! I look forward to making them. 🍁🍂
Hope you enjoy
My German mother in love, made these every Christmas! I’m so glad you made these! It reminded me I need to make them this Christmas ! ☀️☀️☀️
I'm so glad!👍🏻😋🙂❤️
Nice for any occasions.
Afternoon teas, appetizers, desserts, snacks.
Thank You.
🕊️❤️🇺🇸.
just got my cookbook. thank you
Hope you like it!
I have been in search of this recipe for over 15 years. Thank goodness for MeMe's cookbook; I've finally found them. I have made this recipe over and over. It is ABSOLUTELY delicious!!!
😋
My grandma made these for me when I was little! I loved them!!
My mother-in-la used to make these by the ton for large gatherings, including our wedding reception, 45 years ago. Always so good. Only difference is, we roll ours in chopped coconut.
I love hearing the stories you tell about your family i unfortunately don't have a big family so I don't have many stories of my own but I sure enjoy my church family and hearing stories of yours!
Thanks for watching!!
I LOVE your channel! My husband and I watch your channel together. You are such a bright and positive light in this world. The recipes look delightful and we can't wait to try them. Your stories and strong family ties are such beautiful things to see. We really love the way you end your videos with "Shine for Jesus". We are looking forward to watching previous videos and the ones to come. 🥰
Thank you so much!! Thanks for watching!!
It’s great to hear and catch up with you and your family! Glad everyone is doing well! Happy upcoming Holidays! God Bless! Thomas!

You are just so entertaining MeMe and Murphy's law, I know well. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend and this fall weather is wonderful. It was so nice this weekend in Jax.,Fla., too. Love this recipe and will be giving it a try soon. Have a great week!
Thank you! You too!
Oh Miss Me Me, even though I’m from the South and am used to hearing Southern accents, I still love hearing you talk!! When you say “buttah” & “ shuggah”, it does my heart good!! Thank you so much for being your sweet self and for sharing you with the rest of us!! A true Southern Lady!!
Thanks for watching!!
I love it when you post a new video! Happy autumn!🍁🍂🍁

Thank you! You too!
Yummy definitely making these for Christmas
Hope you enjoy
My mom made a similar recipe, rolled in coconut. They are wonderful! The last time I made them I bought already chopped dates that come in a little box. Not sure if you can still find them post-COVID. I’ll have to try MeMe’s recipe. I like the idea of doing them as bars, too. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!!
Thanks for watching!!
Love dates, those look so good.
I like watching your shows I make date balls for Christmas my aunt has done this years . I like hearing you talk all about your family and when you say shine for Jesus thank you for that.
Sounds great!🙂❤️🙏🏻
These would be nice to serve on a charcuterie board or as a food gift for Christmas. Quick and easy is right up my alley.
🙂😋
Oh my goodness, I have not seen a date ball since we would go to Granny’s for Christmas. Wow, brings back so many great memories of Granny and family way back in childhood. Thank you.
❤️
Fun & full week!!
Yes it was.🙂
Hi Meme! I've been watching you for a few weeks now and I just love your recipes, but I adore you and your wonderful personality. I also love to hear KayKay say...."MmmHmmm!" I have a suggestion for you when pressing the date balls into the baking dish. Place a piece of lightly buttered (or sprayed) parchment paper on top, then use a rubber spatula or a flat pancake turner to press them down. The paper keeps the mixture from sticking to your spatula. Then easily peel the paper back. Hope this helps. Your stories and sense of humor brighten my day and of course, "Shine for Jesus!"
Thanks for watching!!
Your such a blessing and your love for family and food shines thru in your videos. I'm so grateful I found your channel.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe.
These look delicious! God bless you,
They are!
It sounds like you had such a great weekend! Love your top and love this recipe! I sooo look forward to seeing you each week! I really enjoy my Meme time. I always feel like I’m sitting in your kitchen just visiting! Thank you for all of the work you do to bring us such good stories for our souls. The food is just a bonus!
Thanks for watching!!
My mom used to make these and roll them in coconut. Delicious!!
Oh yes!😋
My family used to make candy and such at Christmas. Everybody loved for Buckeyes and Divinity to be made but my absolute favorite was and always will be Date Balls. My mom always made them and now its my turn. Thank you MeMe! May you always remember the blessings that God has bestowed upon you.
I love dates … my mom who has passed away always made date nut bread … I miss her ❤
Looks delightful!
Thank you!!
Thank you for this recipe. I loved these as a kid. My mom didn't make them, but some of my aunts did. My cousins thought I was odd because I liked them. While they were munching down all the cookies at holiday gatherings, I was always after the date balls, lol. I think I will make these to take to a Thanksgiving get-together that I've been invited to. Easy & delicious.
Yes they are.😋🙂❤️
Love you MeMe 💗
❤️
Just found you about a few days ago I have been enjoying watching you cook

Thank you so much for this recipe!!! I made these a long time ago for many years and then lost the recipe!! I totally forgot about them!! I'm thrilled to have the recipe back. These are so good. I could eat a bunch at one time!! I'll be making these to add on my cookie trays to give out for Christmas this year!! Thanks again!! God bless!!
Great idea!!😋
I made these today and boy are they delicious! Can't wait to serve them for the holidays too.
They really are.😋
I think I'd love these rolled in dessicated coconut as opposed to the powdered sugar - or even in addition to it! 🤣
Oh yes!
Gonna make them for sure! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy
They sure look yummy!
They are!😋
I just received your cookbook! I live in North Pole, Alaska. I'm so excited that it arrived so fast. I just ordered it last week.
Hope you enjoy it!
My grandmother made these for Christmas.....she rolled some in coconut also.....😊
I have a non stick sauce pan that size, so I'll use that in case I'm not fast enough! Also, I love rice crispies . Snap crackle pop! 😊
🙂
Got your cookbook today. I can almost hear you talking when I am reading one of the recipes, just love it.
Hope you enjoy🙂
Happy you and family had a nice weekend together. I need to try this recipe. They look delicious. A great treat to try on my friends. Your recipes are classic and I am always proud to serve. Having your cookbook handy will be easy to make these. I like to see how you do it and it saves me from guessing. You are an inspiration in each video. ❤
Thanks for watching!!
@@memesrecipessc I forgot to tell you I have made your Doolollies several times and now I get requests for them. What a boost to get requests. Thank you.
Looks delicious
Thank you 😋
Me Me thanks for taking time to bring us another great recipe even though you were tired from your long weekend. ❤
You are so welcome!
Meme -you are sublime & now your Apple cake is requested of me often. I ordered your cookbook & just ordered another for my mom. So happy I found you & your treasured recipes.
Peace be with you!
Thank you, and thanks for watching!!
This reminds me of some candy we made in Home Ec back in the 60's, but without the Rice Krispies. That's probably the only time I've eaten dates.😂
Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Sounds good 😊
These look wonderful and I have the ingredients so I’ll make them tomorrow ❤️
This brings back memories of my preschool days in the late 70s. The dear lady who cut our hair (bowl style!) had her shop in the basement of her home, and at Christmas time she would invite us up to her kitchen for crispy date cookies. This is exactly what they were. My mom still has a hand-written recipe for "Dee's Cookies." Thank you for this.
🙂😋
As always I watch your video then I find myself in the kitchen making what you made later in the week. I’ve always had a fun list for dates and they make a very nice dark day tea bread it has a little coffee in it but that’s another story I may make these and then try them again at Christmas you could also manage to get a little coconut in them or even dip them into chocolate but I’m going to start with your recipe. Thank you again and my best to you and your cameraman KK
Thank you!!
Oh Meme, I love your recipes but even more, I love you and Kay Kay so much! You see, ever since my grandparents passed away, my family has been so dysfunctional and no one ever gets together anymore and there is lots of negativity whenever we do. My grandparents were the glue that held the whole family together. When I see you talking about your family and all your memories, and how much you all enjoy and love each other and how much you love Jesus, it brings such joy to my heart. and whenever I see your hands, lovingly, creating your delicious dishes, I think of my grandma’s hands and that song by Bill Withers, Grandma’s Hands. Thank you for spreading so much love and deliciousness. Praying for peace and Israel 🇮🇱🙏🏼🕊️
Yes!! Thanks for watching!!
I roll mine in sweetened coconut. They r delicious. I am a chocolatier n I make over 800 types of candies. The holidays r coming. TY for sharing. U have inspired me to write my own cookbook. TY so much n take care

Thank you, MeMe 😀 Love watching your videos and trying out your recipes. Only HALF a stick of butter...??? 😳😳😳 Sending you love and best wishes (and the other half stick of butter) from Scotland 🙂❤
I made 2 recipes.... so I got to use a whole stick. Whew... that was almost a crisis. : )
I love this story, and before I joined the band, I worked in the concession stand. I was just a little boy, but my brother Kenny was out their on the field playing football. Ball sports were mever my "thang", but it was Brother "thang". I played the cymbals and drums. I just marched to the beat of my big brother.
👍🏻🙂❤️
These are awesome 👍😎
They are! And very addicting!!
Do you have a recipe for lady fingers? My aunt made them many years ago. They were so good! I remember they favor a short bread and sugar cookie .
Yes. It is in my cookbook.

Delicious I’m making these tasty delights yummy
They are!😋🙂
Meme, You are such a pleasure! God bless
Thanks for watching!!
I seem to remember these made with Caro syrup and then rolled in granulated sugar. 1/2 the batch was rolled in sugar and 1/2 the batch without. Everyone in my huge family would walk by the treat table several times and grab a couple at each pass. The plate would just keep getting filled up!
🤭🤣😋👍🏻🙂❤️
Dates are super food, too!
Yes ma’am!😊 but yes….. The weather is wonderful….. this is my favorite time of year❤ when I was young, this was when my Mammaw would take us camping, and we had crackly fires and roasted marshmallows….. really good memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️
🙂😋
Bless your heart, Meme, I’ve been looking for this recipe for a long time. I’ve been trying to find an active link to buy your cookbook, would you point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Do they like date balls?
My mother had a similar recipe from the 70's called Date Confections that were rolled in coconut instead of sugar.
Sounds great!
Could I request a recipe please? Can you make Chicken A La King or Turkey Tetrazzini please???
Chicken Tetrazzini is in the new book that will be out very soon. You could replace it with turkey.🙂😋
Are you sure it was one cusugar you put in? That looks like my 2 cup pyrex measurer.
Yes, one cup of sugar.🙂
I’d use scissors to snip up those dates.
someone else suggested that... great idea!
