A lot of great tunes, though I'd exclude "Zombie Nation" moment in this set as it's the most hated track of all time by myself xD
Discovered some gems for myself, such as 29:31, 1:11:36 and 1:22:26.
Kinda wish he played original "Full Intension" (not the 2021 version), S.H.O.K.K. remix of "First Impression" (my favourite one) and Scot Project Remix of "Cold Night".. Also Cosmic Gate tunes just feel overplayed at this point for me (except Urban Train) 😅
Still I enjoyed this set a lot, glad to hear music which formed my tastes in trance.

All the classic hard trance tracks, love it... this type of sound with these elements and construction were the best ever... after that this genre just plummeted to the ground... we need this exact styles to come back.

I was on a journey to find a specific sound of hard trance tonight and found this, what a legend, props to this guy for compiling some of the best tracks he knows to play live. We need more hard trance.. and im talking about yuzo koshiro wangan midnight type shit, entire concerts of that genre

he is a fantastic DJ and person, at Guadalajara, Mexico this year, he came down on stage for dance with us :D was a brutal 4 hours set

Dj Ram when he was paired with Bas (Bas & Ram) is the one who created the hardtrance scene ... legendary were their nights in Holland in the late 90s / early 2000s. They and a few others made the scene (and history) of the real Hard Trance!

I am 52. Happened to get lucky and wind up in the early 80s/90s LA scene of Marcia Brady's Bedroom, LSD/SEX/LOVE. I get the DJs gig. But it feels so much that the DJs got more recognition than the artist. This is a great set, but how much was the musical artist who created the music and how much was the DJ? Why do we know more DJs than the musicians?

If the DJ is watching these comments.
1) How does a DJ judge the crowd when most are doing the impression of cardboard cutouts?
2) Should producers really be DJ´s? Just playing your own stuff (not saying its bad) but there is so much decent stuff being produced by independents which often gets ignored.
3) I was speaking to Carla Yates, the other day & she has virtually no work for trance DJing in Melbourne. How does trance find its feet again? If I were a DJ I would be mixing hard, tech euphoric with a little bit of uplifting. Although I must admit I love the old "acid" stuff.
4) When it mentions hard trance, why are there no air raid sirens (police car etc) loops these are absolutely mad (when you´re on one)😏 When Hard Trance is mentioned I always think of the Tidy Boys, Lee Haslam. Should hard trance DJ´s put a few techno tracks in their sets? Amelie Lens, Charlotte De Witte, etc are not immune from putting a trance track in their sets.
1. Chances are the set is prepared so regardless of crowd reaction the next track that is in list is being played regardless.
2. He’s not a producer, having a select team of trance stars making your music, you’re just playing other people’s tracks anyways.
The dudes a business man in trance and a very successful one at that.
Never partied in the 80's/90'. But I would say back then it was about the music and the gathering of like-minded individuals (outcasts?).
Now it seems to be about djs/producers, records, and sales. I don't think you're gonna find that underground sound in big events such as this one. Maybe you'll find what you're looking for in underground parties.
These DJ's are pretty old and business-minded. They're playing because their livelihood depends on it. Up and coming djs are playing for the love of it.
@@legb0y Perhaps you´ve hit the nail on the head. The end of the 80´s start of the 90´s the DJ would enter the club & would play a mixture of stuff bit of techno, hardcore, house/rap. Now these DJ´s just come with such a narrow genre (that don´t want to confuse). the old adage being "if the track is good play it".
I just get the feeling that most of the DJ´s that come to advents like this are either just pretty faces behind labels (Charlotte De Witte, Amelie Lens, yes I know they´re both techno) or are producers that are only intent on playing their own stuff or they´ve remixed in some way.
You´re not wrong many of these DJ´s/producers now are pretty old. If you back to the 90´s they would all be early 20´s at best no more than they. Now many of them appear to be getting on 50. No wonder the trance scene has become so stale if you impede new talent,
@@pirateman7663 First what was this set, a classic or something else? His last track was interesting (a remix that I´d never heard of) I would have gone with the original L.A Style, which absolutely ripped up U.S. dance floors back in 1991. If it were a classic I would have played Joey Beltram - Energy Flash, just as a cheeky way of saying "I know what you lot are up to!!!" I would love to see the crowd´s reaction to this as it still sounds as good to today as when it came out in 91!
I thought this guy was a producer, I´ve certainly come across the name before although looking at the play list there is not much to suggest any track involvement in none of the play list.
I´ve no doubt that many if most of the sets that these "DJ´s" play at these festivals come very close to being prerecorded. Even if they do come to the stage with their USB & mix track 1 with track 2. We´re still trying to work out what Giuseppe Ottaviani, was doing with his set. Yes he was adding some keyboard to the track (I doubt any of the crowd are likely to notice)

Indecent Noise was Tech Trance, albeit on the harder side..
Real hard trance example is DJ Dean in Tunnel Trance Force 24 CD2 and Tunnel Trance Force 25 CD1 mixes.
