Yes! A genuine day of birth of camel girl Zanna on 05/04/24. It had been 4 years since the birth of a baby camel.
Zanna was born outdoors on a rainy day. The zookeepers carried her into the stable, dried her off and gave her a first bottle of milk, hoping she would soon be strong enough to drink herself. And she was.
I was really early that morning of 14/05/24. Zoo Planckendael had just opened at 9 o'clock, so Zanna was still sleeping.
Later on l enjoyed watching her antics. She got hungry from all the action and started eating fresh grass. No hay for little miss camel! 😉😅

I do too!
That was my plan that day : to see and record as many of the recently born baby animals at ZooPlanckendael. Lion cubs Yade and Yarzar, baby black lemur (it turned out to be a girl again and she was named Zuri), and baby camel Zanna . I wanted to spot the newest baby hyena pup Zahara as well but she wasn't outside. Video about the baby crested macaque is coming soon.

The enclosure of the camels reaches out to both the entrance and the exit of the path leading through the continent Asia section, so l passed it several times on my tour. And consequently, l got the opportunity of filming her at several moments of the day. 😀👍
As a lot of animals that are possible preys, baby camels are up and about just hours after being born. Despite her unfortunate start, Zanna has become a healthy and playful animal, as you could witness. 😄🥰

OMG, I love the baby Bactrian camel! He’s too cool and very cute. I love watching the scraggly fur stage! Every year they lose their coat to make way for a newbie! Thanks so much for the adorable video Carina. 🐫❤🐫
The camels are one of those animals that usually don't get much attention from the public. People just walk on by. But now, with Zanna and her antics, people stop to watch her, as l did each time l passed their enclosure. She is indeed very cute! 🥰👍
