- After practice a couple weeks ago, Asriel Davis (playing the piano) and i (singing) decided to go ahead and do a little something. I hope that this rendition of In The Sweet By and By will be a blessing and encouragement to someone.

I was looking for a place to leave a comment for Seth Durand to laud him for his moving version of "Near to the Heart of God"--and actually everything on that album. Comments are turned off on the performance pages, and I don't blame him. But I saw this site and had to say a big THANK YOU, Seth. I am so impressed with how your hymnals stick with the theme, never allowing the theme to get lost in improv, but yet you add some chords that give your renditions just the right emphasis and mood. Your playing has become a model for me. Now, I must also say THANKS to Asriel Davis for this moving vocal version of "In the Sweet By and By." Asriel Davis, the timbre of your voice is strong and rich enough to just sing it straight like the old church ladies like it! You don't need the vocal trills and furbelows; still, you do them movingly, so go on and do what you do! Well done, Guys! Wishing you such good luck!

I listen daily to your "Near to the Heart of God." The 8-measure intro is exquisite. How it recurs midway and at the end is regal. Your arrangement? Published? I've been online looking for CD versions of the "He Leadeth Me" album. Is it MP3 only? Keep creating. You are inspiring.
