    Evander has been with 3 NHL teams and has messed it up one way or another. Oilers really need to stay away from this guy. He’s not going to help on or off the ice.

  • @exturkconner
    @exturkconner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Sharks terminated his contract because they said he knowingly broke protocol. The NHL investigated the matter to decide if a suspension was required. The NHL's finding was that he didn't knowingly violate the protocol. The NHLPA is currently in the process of filling that it was an unjust termination. The NHL's findings certainly don't hurt the NHLPA's case. Now my question is if San Jose terminated him for knowingly violating protocol and the NHL says he didn't do that then is San Jose going to face a cap penalty for this? Cause it amounts to circumvention. They didn't want him, they couldn't find a trade partner, now they got to fire him and free themselves of his hit. But if it wasn't justified I think they should get clapped. And it seems very likely that the PA will win it's case and that San Jose is going to have to settle the matter and pay up a chunk of Kane's remaining salary.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since NHL couldn’t find any reasons Kane is actually entitled to the rest of his money left on the contract. Since they did not by him out but terminated the deal but NHL found no reason to penalize him Sharks owe him his money and they should face a cap penalty

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ryans413 They should face a penalty. Otherwise it sets up a terrible president where if a teams unhappy for a guy they can fire him for whatever reason they say and just get out from under the contract. Even if they have to pay the full contract out some teams would be happy to do that as long as they were free of the cap hit.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ryans413 That's yet to be determined. The third party arbitration has full say of that now. Though it's more likely there'll be a settlement before that even happens. San Jose has to know with the NHL making this ruling that it's going to come back badly. There's no way the award isn't going to go in Kane's favor. But I also highly doubt it'll be 100% Kane did get into a lot of trouble and did make the public opinion of the sharks worse. If I had to guess what'll happen it'd be that Kane will get a settlement of about 50% of his remaining contract paid in some sort of structured plan. If it actually goes to arbitration it might be as much as 75% and it might be a lump sum payment. As far as if the league is going to do anything about cap penalty I imagine they'll wait until the ruling or settlement before deciding to proceed. They are a reactionary body.

    Im not sure if i have the story right. But from what i heard is he got suspended for not getting vaccinated. Then that voided his contract. If i am wrong please correct me, but if that is the case it is very ironic cause now he has to be vaccinated and playing for $750k intead of his $7M contract where he didnt want to vaccinate.

    Kane was suspended 21 games by the NHL for violating COVID protocols (which, in theory, justified the termination of his contract); but the league found no substantiation of the claims of abuse by his wife.

    I've loved hockey for as long as I can remember. But I've always felt really torn by my love of the game and my hatred toward "hockey culture" and its history of racism, sexism and general buffoonery. Not just in the players and coaches and gatekeepers of the game, but even in the media. My wife grew up loving hockey and went to school for sports journalism and interned with a radio station called the team 1040 as well as working for the Vancouver giants while she was in school. Unfortunately, she was objectified and treated as a second class citizen by both her colleagues and the players/coaches and managers she was supposed to work with.
    I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to hear grown men like the 3 of you talk about the sport I love while maintaining strong morals and not ignoring difficult discussions. Salute to the 3 of you gentlemen. You deserve way more money and acclaim than you currently have.

    Is this TMZ or a Hockey Pod Cast lol
    It's a 40 game deal. He's basically a rental player the oilers got for no assets and a $1 mill in salary.
    Adds depth. Oilers top 3 lines currently are:
    Kane - McDavid - Yamamoto
    Foegele - Draisaitl - Puljujarvi
    Hyman - RNH - Kassian
    It's Tippett so that's probably 1 game lol but any combination of those are going to create chances.
    I suspect Hollands been looking for a goalie non-stop since the off season and he'll try and pull something by the deadline, but Kane is free depth for a run. Oilers can't afford to resign him next season if they wanted too.
    It's no big deal.

    Aggravating listening to this idiocy. An Allegation is just an accusation that may be 0% accurate or 100% accurate. It should be listened to, but without evidence, nothing at all should be put on it. He's got a gambling problem which is obvious since he chose the Oilers over Washington (heh, kiddin). A great signing, nice job Ken Holland.
