The flash goes up like that so it can get further away from the axis of the lens making the light less harsh AND less red eye. Its actually a pretty great decision compared to the alternative.
Its a fun camera fits in your pocket enjoy it for that if you want quality images over fun go for Sony rx100 and pay loads more money this camera you will keep on you all day long and will make you smile taking pics with it :)

People hate on the Q too much. It is the first in a series of cameras so of course there are going to be problems and limitations. While it is overpriced, is there really an other camera out there that combines all of its features at the same price point? The Q is unique and that is its strength and weakness.

@Buzzybros I think you have a valid point. they have reviewed the worst cameras made from the pentax brand. if they were to review the k5 (a fantastic camera), The camera has better very equal (if not better) image quality to the nikon d7000, the same fps as the canon 7d and is able to hold glass that is close to matching canons, you will see that you have been missing out. @DigitalRevCom please look at the full product-range before guessing there are no good camera made from Pentax. @1stghostshadow aha that's a TH-cam glitch, so many videos get stuck at about 300 views for a while. Digitalrev is one of the most subscribed channels on TH-cam, views usually go 50,000+. I guess the reason people complain about having to wait for videos, is because Digitalrev release their videos erratically, you never know when the next one is coming. I also get withdrawal symptoms :P. I can see both sides of the argument though, and your point is valid.

Review the Pentax Q10. Pay more attention this time though, considering the original Q blew away a few of the APS-C MILCs, willing to bet the Q10 makes competitors look silly. (Esp considering theyre offering pro grade optics)

Was that lag really that shocking or was the camera pointed to the right of the frame, causing traffic to pass through the FOV after it passed through the video cameras FOV? Because that looked shocking. Even if this was the case, the stutter was terrible.
I'd like to see some different lenses used on this like some cctv lenses, and telephoto lenses. I mean if 8mm is equivalent to 47mm Imagine a 300mm lens or even a 800mm lens. :D
the interesting thing is: cropfactor 5.6. exactly the tiny sensor. Cause the question is: whats better, a 5.6 crop from your fullframe or using this tiny thing? and will the lens resolve it? for video the answer is clear. enter pentax q with canon lens and you´ll see. Also you can use fast and cheap (okay there are also more expensive) cctv lenses on it.

That Q is amazing its as small as the Auto 110 that used 110 format film during the 1980's - used one it was fun. Prints were crap but the Kodak slide film was quite good (I still have them) would love to try out a Q Pentax ... anyone listening to me... Pentax ????
I think he missed the point of this camera. Because it's a mirrorless doesn't mean it should be compared to the PEN or GF3 cameras. It's more similar to the awesome Ricoh GRD, but with better IQ, and interchangeable lenses. The Q is an excellent camera for street photography, IQ is quite good, and the fun factor is this small camera is huge.
okehh what do we had... Sonys NEX 3 & 5, all Olys EP somethingrather, all the mirrorless cams from panny and now that daft thingy... are DSLRs too heavy for you kai or WHAT?

That's a cute cool camera. I would like to have one. The Q is the digital replacement of the Pentax Auto 110.
The stock lens on the Q is very good and it does have a magnesium alloy body- no plastic crap here.

Yeah it's popular body for those into telephotography. You can adapt it onto canon telephotos and get huge distance out of it.
Review the Pentax 645D, it's the only Pentax worth having a review.
