EAS Scenario - Rainier

  • Mount Rainier, a large active stratovolcano looming and dominating the skyline view of Seattle, located 59 miles northwest from here, is one of the Decade Volcanoes, with a large possibility of it being a ticking time bomb, a deafening volcanic nuke bomb at best. The cities of Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia, housing over a total of 3.9 million residents, along with many communities and towns totalling nearly up to millions more, are now on a total brink of disaster, and all it takes is a single natural disaster that would throw them off guard in a big surprise.
    This scenario is inspired by Dante’s Peak, coldsteel2204’s EAS Movie Scenario of that same name, and MiltonWATech99 Productions’ Mount Rainier EAS Scenario. It was not too long after when I attended Science online class about volcanoes, that’s how I got the idea of that scenario.

    Discrepancies (updated on November 28, 2021):
    -The spacebar between Until and 10:30 PM PST at Civil Emergency Message is missing.
    -Damage listing is quite long.
    -In the Ashfall Warning, there are no steps mentioned about not to breathe in ash and to close off vents and air conditioning.
    -The TTS said Spokane twice. The "Spokane" before the other "Spokane" near the end is supposed to be Seattle.
    -Damage cost epilogue statement is repeated twice.
    -One of the viewers said that a tectonic earthquake may or may not have likely triggered volcanic activity.
    -I kept putting "geologists", but it should be "volcanologists" who should be doing their job, investigating and monitoring volcanic activity. Or idk if they're the same.

    Might I clarify something...
    Usually, earthquake activity will be indicative of upcoming volcanic activity, and would generally not be the cause of said volcanic activity. The eruption of Mt St Helens in 1980 was not necessarily caused by an earthquake; what happened was the earthquake triggered a landslide that caused the weakened north flank to essentially tear off the mountain, so it was like a cork popping off a champagne bottle. This is not how most eruptions happen. All these things came together to create an horrific scenario that left 57 people dead and hundreds of square miles of beautiful forest utterly laid waste.

    • @ROBLOXGamingDavid
      @ROBLOXGamingDavid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks for the clarification. I never done any volcanoes of this kind before. I watched SPCHermitage 1258's EAS Scenario about a Yellowstone erupting after an earthquake hit, so i thought I just go for it using that plot.

    The scariest thing is this could actually happen, and it would be worse than St. Helens. It also doesn’t help that a lot of our highways were built in valleys carved out by its previous eruption in the 19th century. My family luckily lives in an area that won’t be affected by the lahars, but it’d still get blanketed in ash.

    My family and I survived a 7.6 earthquake in February of 2001 in Tacoma, WA. The epicenter was Nisqually Valley which is about 25 miles or so south/southeast of Tacoma and I'm still surprised to this day that it didn't trigger a volcanic eruption at Mt. Rainier. God was surely watching over us all that day as the fatalities were minimal thank God.

      Volcanic ash is also why the Puyallup valley (around Mt. Rainier) is so fertile and the produce coming from there is so excellent. Sad that something tragic has to happen, but at least some good came out of it. I'm glad we moved before Rainier woke up.

    • @ROBLOXGamingDavid
      @ROBLOXGamingDavid  ปีที่แล้ว

      frankly i do not read history when I initially make this, or I don't know... Like, at the time, 35,000 years was a bit insane for me so I only place hundreds of years since its last erupted. So... let's just say its an alternate universe.
      thanks for that information btw.
