We have just from Bali after 22 years and it's changed and In some case's not for the better . Mount Agung was forbidden to climb because of earthquakes. We stayed in Tirta Ganga. I kept looking at this special mountain. I even met the balanese mountain guide who actually took me up this not so easy climb . Love Bali

I did this many many years ago , we hired a guide in Tirta Gangga, not expensive. Not easy but we'll worth it. This was about twenty years ago . Bali is or was a very special place. I have heard it's changed a lot. INDONESIA and it's people are in my eyes very special.

Richard Stead, sure just like everywhere in the world, Bali has changed but lm totally addicted to Ubud and must go every February, it’s just what l must do and have been doing for eight years. I used to go to Varanasi in India but have since boycotted India and now go to Bali. Love the place, people and massages.

Janet Michel interesting, why did you boycott India? We just spent a month in Sri Lanka and in some way we were a little disappointed. Not good value for money. We left and spent a month in Singapore and Malaysia. Better value for money, not cheap but ok. We traveled to Tioman Island, intending to stay for three days and ended up spending fifteen. Tioman is like Bali a special place. I have spend four months of my life in Bali. Our next Asian trip will be for four months, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sarawak and the peninsula of Malaysia.

Wow you have sure done some time traveling. India l have been many times but the poverty and conditions just seem to get worse and the way they treat their animals is just unacceptable. I decided l didn’t want to be on holiday depressed and saddened by those conditions, hence Bali is my place of choice, well it’s Ubud that has that special magic.

Janet Michel What I dont like about Asia, is I like it too much and I won't travel in Africa or Europe. South America is ok, but you must watch your back. We have spent ten months of our lives travelling around Asia. It's got everything one needs in life, great food, nature, culture and it's affordable. It's a total education! My wife, after reading your posts and comments, insists we return to Bali one last time. Take care.
