Sir, in the question where it takes 20 hr to fill and 15 hr to empty the tank. why did you take the rate of empty as positive- shouldn't it be negative since we are emptying the tank? I took the combined rate of both the pipes as -1 units/hr and got the same answer, but I didn't understand why did you take the combined rate as positive? Please explain this, it would be a great help!
I am trying to do this question according to what you taught in the 2nd last question but answer is not coming three pipes a b c are attached to tank a and b can fill in 20 and 30 min while c can empty in 15 mins if a b c are kept open successively for 1 min each how soon the tank be filled answer is 167 min but according to video what you have taught I am getting 180 mins

Such questions need to breakdown till the second last minute of emptying pipe.
Think and try again
