The only reason why I am still alive is because I had Skinny Puppy when I was going through the worst time of my life. This music isn't negative it's uplifting and cries for change in the world.
They've definitely helped me through many hard times in my life. And I have a poster that Ogre signed for me and it says "my name" Thanks for being. Thank you for being as well as every single other Puppy fan. No matter how difficult and different our lives are from one another we're all one big family and if there's one thing I know about Puppy fans it's that we care about each other.
Became a fan at the end of 85 when I stumbled upon Remission and was instantly hooked. Fell hard down the rabbit hole of all things Industrial EBM experimental etc and never looked back. Had anyone told me back then that I would end up personally knowing them and hanging out with them many times as well as owning instruments from cEvin Keys studio I wouldn't have believed it for a second. But I did and when I got deeply into The Legendary Pink Dots I was able to play the theremin while at their Hallway of the God's tour when they came to Dallas. Ryan Moore handed it towards me and I knew exactly what to do and I guess it was impressive enough that he let me play it through the whole song and that was a trip. These guys have been such a huge part of my life I can't imagine life without knowing them.
while this may be true, I suspect ohgr may be a child molester. Also band has been suspiciously silent about the whole canadian trucker thing. I guess I cant fault them too much, they were probably MK ultra victims.
Saw Front Line Assembly in 98 a few days before I went to boot camp. Fulber was not onboard that tour but it was still an amazing gig and the driving beats kept me marching when I was to tired to move.
I hate it if they call it industrial music. These Canadian bands were way too pop-oriented. Nothing you would compare to Throbbing Gristle, SPK or Whitehouse.
I liked and purchased all of their cd's a until the process after that virgin megastore closed and I couldn't find their cds but I think I started to listen to drum'nbass but I did saw the break dancing video that was a good song
Ah City Limits , my education in good music before the internet . Much Music was great back then . They did one of their "Spotlight" shows on industrial . It had most of this plus Laibach , Godflesh , Foetus , Coil , NIN , and played pretty much prime time in the evening .
it's too bad time seems to have mashed the energy and dynamism these two bands had- the newer stuff is pretty disappointing and never gets the rotation the original stuff does (even though Im pretty sick of hearing it nowadays- need new "old stuff" I guess - ha !)
100 percent. The other day I watched Smothered Hope live from '87 or something and I was just like whoa, I forgot how Trent copied every single aspect of their style and music. Just everything.
Not really. NIN sounds completely different than either group in my opinion. I think that a lot of people who think this are people who were not around back in the day and are not aware of how many industrial groups there were. Skinny Puppy, FLA, Front 242 etc.. did not spring from nothing. They were influenced by Portion Control, D.A.F, Test Dept. Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle, Absolute Body Control, Klinik just to name a few. Trent was no ore influenced than any other next wave of industrial groups that were making a more percussive/dance driven form of industrial. They all put their own twist on the sound.

It might not seem like it but sp are geniuses, their music from then is still current today AND the stuff they’re producing today is incredible...

Fascinating set of clips. Smart dudes who really thought about what they were doing. Also amazing to see them all so young!

KINGS OF INDUSTRIAL🔧🔨🔗📣

The second wave of industrial maybe
Is it a rule that whenever a genre is mentioned, someone has to argue about it? It's tiresome.

Rhys Fulber had to be like 20 or 21 at this time. Literal kid genius.
Feels like 90’s was just yesterday
2 years later, I find myself reading your comment...I have to agree, I'm a 56 y/o kid
It feels like 200 years ago in southern california
@@justinwells1043 I sure do miss MARS FM in California. Best ever station ever. I think they went off air though
Thanks for the upload. Brings back so many memories!!

Great compilation! Leeb was rocking a pretty kick ass haircut with that undercut &.......braid.
So where the heck is the live footage from? Obviosly it's the Bites tour '85 but I never knew they had any pro shot stuff from that tour.
"Aint it dead yet" VHS Video + live CD. Later re-released as DVD.
5:44 It sounds like it's Arnold Schwartzenegger is singing Iceolate, hah!
Haha totally
Lol Well Bill Leeb is Austrian Lol. “where is Kuato the Martian leader?”

I always just assumed the name skinny puppy came from it being the opposite of a fat cat.
yeah, Christmas songs. okay??..
rhys fulber looks a little like ''billy'' a young brad douriff who played in ''one flew over the cukoos nest'' and ''blue velvet''
LOL my thoughts as well.
Ah the interviewer is cute.
I need heavy duty music!
Chunk blower.
A film with guts.
WELT
5:54 gee, I sure hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
Damn Trent copied everything from them
