    Hi guys, a wonderful video. I am so amazed at how accommodating the people of Indonesia are to you. You wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream of seeing this temple. Even though it was closed on Mon your tour guides had many things for you to see. Also they were there to get you to your temple. What wonderful people. Great video! Godspeed and safe travels. Love, Aunt Helen

    Beautifull vilage.
    Candi pawon means in javanese, candi = tample, pawon = traditional kitchen or clay stove for cooking
    Another meaning of pawon comes from the Javanese word "awu" or ash, pawon means the place of ashes. Usually in Java candi is a place to store the ashes of a respected figure

      Oh my goodness, what wonderful information! That's so interesting to get behind the meaning of these words in the beautiful language of Java... I (Marisa) am particularly fascinated by words and their origins, and I simply love the languages from this part of the world. Thank you for sharing this information with us and everyone else reading 🙏.

    Another great episode. I love the local sites as much as the big attractions, and you guys do a wonderful job of wrapping them in a story. And Tim's puns! Thank God he doesn't always know the right word for something, because his substitutions are the best! You enlighten and lighten my day. Thanks!

      @2UpAndOverloaded  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Ed! This is Marisa here, and I sure do love those puns and those word smith-y moments of Tim's... whether they are intended or not 😉. Thanks so much for joining us on our world travels!

    I'm guessing Marisa got a kick out of seeing Tim riding shotgun in the pillion seat 🤣 You guys are such an inspiring couple, like from the Fiddler on the Roof song
    "Matchmaker, Matchmaker look through your book, and make me a perfect match!"
    You must feel very fortunate to have found each other. I miss my wife so much, cancer took her far too early.
    FYI, I don't know if it's just me, but at the beginning of this video there's a rectangular blurred area that's like what you see when someone is redacting content. It's there for the first 30 seconds and then it disappears after that.

    • @2UpAndOverloaded
      @2UpAndOverloaded  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alan, that's so kind of you to say we are a perfect match. I happen to agree, but sometimes we go through rough patches where it's hard to se that, and so it's really nice to hear such kind words. It helps us get through the tough times. Also, I'm sorry to hear about your wife, I'm sure you two were also a perfect match.
      And finally, thank you for pointing out the blur thing! Yes, I tried doing that for the first time to blur out something at the end, but it added one to the beginning and I didn't know about it until your message... Thank you, you saved my video! I have now reverted it back to the original, so hopefully that blur will go away. I'm not messing with that again! And I can't thank you enough 😄!

    It looks like you guys had a Coddiwomple! Dare Tim to say it! English slang, defined as “to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination.” When you have no expectations of where you’re going, what is going to happen, and you stumble upon unexpected moments and memories.

    • @2UpAndOverloaded
      @2UpAndOverloaded  ปีที่แล้ว

    Indeed it's an amazing experience. We did the same on our tour sun rise mountain view and also visited the Borobudur back in 2003 when there where very little tourist

    • @2UpAndOverloaded
      @2UpAndOverloaded  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh wow, that is so lucky that you were able to see Borobudur in such a special moment in time. As you'll see in the next video, things are a little different these days (but not always in a bad way). No matter what, Borobudur is a special and unique place, it's so cool you got to experience it as well!
