I don't think a Season Six will work. It wasn't a major cliffhanger and since then Zach has starred in Heroes Reborn and Guardians of the Galaxy and he proposed to Betty White. If they made a Season Six, we would rejoice but it wouldn't actually be as good as we would have wanted.
Sarah losing her memory and needing to get to know Chuck and everyone else she got close with the prior five years, all over again, is just not a good ending. No one can hang around a bunch of complete strangers who are all trying to remind you of things and convince you of things you have no memory of nor any feelings for. That will drive anyone away to live a normal life, somewhere else, with people they are on even footing with, who don't possess 5 years of secret knowledge that they don't even know about themselves. A five year block of amnesia is extremely creepy to contemplate. And yet, most of what was presented in the actual finale seems to make that the most likely outcome. Morgan never got a shred of his missing memory back. Chuck and Casey both conclude that Sarah is "gone". There's no evidence she's even a little bit inside her body. Sarah gains only tiny snippets of memory over a period of weeks, and she tells Chuck, A) There are no feelings in her towards him, and B) Memories like "Irene Demova" are just words that popped into her head, she doesn't even know what they mean. At that negligible/insignificant remembrance rate, it will be a lot of not very fun times struggling to recall a word or two here or there over many many years. IMO, this series needed just ONE more episode where Ellie Bartowski hacks her father's Intersect technology, building a new and better Intersect 4.0 with her own improvements (she is after all, a brain surgeon) to re-implant enough image and video data to help Sarah's brain rebuild/restore all her lost memories. For suspense, they could then have made it not initially work, but suddenly kick in as an Intersect flash segment, triggered by a kiss from Chuck. That is, a science fiction version of the Morgan magic kiss concept, would have been a perfect ending for this show.
Well, the good news is that the movie they've been talking about forever seems to be getting some forward momentum finally. We'll see what happens there but recent news has been encouraging.
I would prefer that the solution be that the Intersect CANNOT remove memories permanently. Small clusters maybe like in the case of Morgan, but the entirety of 5 years worth of memories without physically damaging the brain shouldn't work. So, it would be better if Ellie discovers that the Intersect suppressed her memories and that they automatically return the longer the Intersect stays out of her head.
Just rewatched this show took 4 days and can't believe how much I cried at the finale again. This is by far my favorite TV series there's just a certain magic that other shows don't have

Yep, they kiss, then you see her opening her eyes flashing, then she looks at him and smile and kiss him back... fade out! That would have been a good ending for me :)

I watched every season 1-5 within a months period finishing it 2 days ago. Honestly I'm gutted its over I want more! So I've started all over again watching from season 1. Man.... I love sarah and chuck.. :(
We all know that she and Chuck fall back in love. While a more concrete ending is all well and nice, the real ending lets us put it to our imagination. We can take the characters where we please after this. Still, thanks for taking the time on this!
Disagree a good story gives a resolution usually a vague ending is bad story telling it works sometimes like with inception but in this case it really leaves the last two seasons of Chuck and Sarah moments wasted I really hated the ending

I really don't understand how people missed this show in US. Even I with limited resources that I have, have watched this show since day 1 from Turkey for gods sake. And still miss it after years, watching some scenes that come across. Actually considering to start again these days because of Zachary showed up in Heroes Reborn and totally messed with my head... God I missed Chuck.

All, I feel your pain, but have learned to actually like this scene. I have watched Chuck over 10x now. Sarah does fall in love with Chuck here on the beach again. She interrupts Chuck and asked Chuck to kiss her. Just look in her eyes and listen to her voice as she asks Chuck to kiss her. Then they kiss three times. Also remember, Morgan was always right when it came to Chuck and Sarah. I am not sure if she gets all of her memories back…but I know she has some and believe others come back over time..maybe even here on the beach. But she falls in love for sure here as Chuck, her ‘Home’ she was always looking for she discovers again.
I am addicted to this show......I watched all 5 seasons on Netflix, then bought the 5 season DVD on Amazon. Now I'm back watching 2 episodes everyday on Netflix, just to get my Chuck and Sarah fix ! Fabulous show !
Emotions are extremely powerful and can't go away that easily. My Grandmother had Alzheimer in her last years and didn't know anybody not even my uncle who was taking care of her. But even if she did not know me or my father she was always very happy to see us. My uncle said the she was not like that with strangers. The day she died is like she knew it's her end and almost remembered us but she did not die until she saw my father a man she said she doesn't know who he is only 2 days ago.
I saw Chuck (Zachary Levi) in Heroes Reborn 1-2 weeks ago. Which made me *flash* of all the fond memories of Chuck. I am pretty sure this is the series that I love more than any other show out there. Yes nice idea, but I would have preferred if there were more scenes that went by faster and faster then as if it was some sort of flash for Sarah up until that kiss which would then cut into that "Chuck" title (obviously simply hinting everything coming back, Sarah remembering Chuck) That being said, I give props to the last few episodes in encapsulating the ENTIRE series of Chuck. Simply amazing. Kudos to the writers

Ugh, I really hate the "actual" ending, to have 4 years of a relationship just gone, and having to start all over.. That's a crappy ending to the adventure. Even if the ending is supposed to hint at Sarah's recovery, I still think they could have made a much better ending more suitable to the amazing journey these two have gone through.
i thought the intersect only worked in a select few brains thats why chuck was "special" but towards then end everyone was able to handle the intersect.
The key to the magical kiss is that it will start them down a path of falling in love again. The Intersect is powerless against emotions. As Sarah falls in love with Chuck again, her emotions will start to overwhelm the Intersect. Then she will start to regain her memories. As the Turners said, “We wish you many happy marriages.”
After have what I like to call a full chuck year and watching this so many times. I have analyzed the ending and came to a conclusion that Sarah may have never regained those memories however she did regain the feelings for chuck. Cause remember she said she believes him but doesn’t feel it. Well love is a powerful feeling.
This show was amazing in it's prime but I was surprised how fast it started to run out of steam midway through season 4. I could barely makes it through season 5, and the finale was just the final giant middle finger.
This was the only thing they did wrong. They forgot all about the first 3 years. In the first 3 years they used computers to do the download. Here they seen to think that the only way is with the glasses.
The ending should have fast forwarded to the not so distant future when Chuck and Sarah have a baby. And right after he/she is born someone walks by the viewing glass in the hospital and Chuck and Sarah notice the baby appears to flash. They are not sure but the look at each real quick and say did he/just flash? Credits roll.
Morgan was right. With a single kiss you open your soul. That's what happened at the end of the series. Sarah opened her soul and allowed Chuck to love her as a nerd really loves, a nerd who would do anything for his partner. The dream house awaits them both.
There is NO WAY that I could do this show with her like Zack Levy did, and NOT fall completely in love with her like I did watching her in this show. She is in some ways similar to my exwife, but that's not the reason. She is just sooooo lovely it kills me.
Can someone please explain to me why Sarah didnt just take the glasses on and got her memories back in the last episode. I know that they had to stop the bomb with the intersect but Sarah could also have stopped it if she got the intersect in her brain??
Well even if she had used the glasses in the finale it wouldn't bring back her memories. What Chuck and Ellie were planning on doing was basically uploading what happened to her during the past 5 years instead of the intersect.
its nice that you can tell she still somewhere loves him because the bit where there laughing during the story telling is obviously chuck telling a bad joke, and her laughing at it because she loves him

But it's one of those fans ask the questions and he always says it's going to happen and it's in the work but it's going to take some time and depending on what happenes it's either gonna be like a movie deal or season but on netflix like they did with arrested development for example

My wife disliked the ending much more than me, but I had one question: why didn't chuck mention the fact that he knew about her mom and the baby girl?
That's what I said he should have done instead of her taking to their dream house. That way she would have known he knew her better than anyone

This wasn't an alternate ending, I'd have at least liked to have seen a verbal proposal for one. This was just a montage of Chuck/Sarah moments.

But it's one of those fans ask the questions and he always says it's going to happen and it's in the work but it's going to take some time and depending on what happenes it's either gonna be like a movie deal or season but on netflix like they did with arrested development for example

i think the extended version is good. you should check that out. sad the series ended tho. nothing can top it
