If you only you could have been a fly on the wall to see how hype 0:27 was. Hellsing Ultimate was popping off and Oswald was so unique to the Kof world at the time. We all lost our collection s**t back in the day.
0:28 *JOKER* One of the coolest Desperation Moves. In KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A, Hyena has a parody version of that technique called *JOKE* 6:32 *Yamigiri* That technique comes from The Last Blade series, it was used by Zantetsu 8:47 *Chou Shounami* A clear reference to Kame Sennin/Master Roshi's first Kamehameha from Dragon Ball Imagine a Clash of Kamehamehas between Tung and Mui Mui 🤭
10:02 I loved Gai Tendo so freaking much back in XI. This move as a kid, used to call it "No Escape" Basically it unlocked his kit for his command grab and a few other moves from being locked behind his neutral dodge. Also whatever character he hit with that initial uppercut, couldn't tag out so it truly was a 1v1.
Silbur actually has a "super" move you can activate by pressing all 4 attack buttons at the same time, but it doesn't do anything. It was likely a planned super that was never properly removed.
1:02 One of the best versions of the Chain Drive 2:22 Ennui Mademoiselle (AKA La Chancla) 🩴👠 KOF XI did the whole "Shattered All Expectations" before KOF XV The unique roster and the tag system makes me comeback to this game. As much as I like KOF XI, the stages of the arcade version are boring, the only exception would be Magaki's stage. I even prefer the stages of KOF 2001 😐 At least the PS2 port of XI introduced new stages and some of them are really cool like the Concert Stage. Also...I find the OST not as memorable as KOF 2003 (I know I am weird) There are great tracks my favorites being the tracks for K' Team, Agents Team, Rival Team and Magaki's theme (f**k Magaki but at least his track is amazing)
XI also had to go for broke since SNK worried it might be the last King of Fighters game, so they had to pull out all the stops before their big revival.
Some neat facts and comments I'll make about KOF XI as someone who played them back when I was 7: 1. It's kinda obvious but Oswald really follows the whole "deck of cards" thing when one of his supers has a maximum hits of 21 (Blackjack), and his Leader move JOKER has 52 hits (minus the first hit from pinning his enemy to the wall) 2. If u have the timing and positioning down pat, and have enough meter, u can do combo the same super or Leader move with some characters. Examples are Malin's hammer Leader move, K''s Chain Drive, and Maxima's Bunker Buster super. 3. Gai Tendo unfortunately has the worst supers and undoubtedly, the most wasteful Leader move (all it does is it makes the round a complete 1v1, preventing both players from doing normal Tags, Quick Shifts, and Saving Shifts, until one of them dies), not worth using the 2 meter gauges for it. 4. This is the rare case where Kyo has both ground projectiles and rekkas in the same kit, and he gets the strengths of both. His EX version also exists for people who prefer the NESTS Kyo. 5. It takes a bit of practice but you can actually 100-0 someone with Shingo's Leader move if you go to a specific part of the corner. There's videos floating around youtube where people have done that. 6. Momoko's quite a weird case where she seems to rely more on her command moves than specials for damage (if anything she has the most auxiliary set of specials in any character in KOF XI), and her breakdance super has a lot of deviations but most of them aren't really that useful unless you do a hard read (don't do the last one tho, it's the most inferior deviation) 7. Similar to Kyo, Kensou also has regained his projectile usage while keeping his moves from the NESTS saga, imo he's one of the top tiers in this game. 8. Shion's Leader move actually deals more damage if one more debris hits, which is why you cast it after doing his multi-punch special from his spearless stance.
That's weird that my comment got deleted. I just said I liked all the super moves, especially the new super moves with the veteran characters, but I preferred the 2d graphics on past KOF games.
Never liked this KOF it felt poorly made, from the sprites sometimes looking blurry to the jarring changes on the quality of the voice lines, it felt like a poorly made MUGEN pack
@@Siberianhusky89 I might be wrong but I think that only plays on either Team Mode (where u don't pick a leader and it becomes a traditional 3v3), or on Single Player Mode as Athena
Gotta give 2D animation a round of applause! Supers here still looks so good.
nah garou characters somehow look worse here
Better super than shitty super in kofxv

Well I know Master Tung was always meant to be a Master Roshi nod without any of his biggest parts like his perverted nature.

whoever did the supers here poured their heart and soul out to learn every combo
Literally still the BEST canon KOF classic sprites style

Finally I understand what the Silver stance move does. It is a counter super lol
