I'm in the Red Panavision jacket at around the 8:15 mark, and the guy in the grey and black stripes at 9:09 is Martin Campbell, the director. Later on I totally ruin Ian's shot by getting in the way, but I have to pull focus as Pierce and Isabella pop up into their post-explosion reaction shot, and being at 90 degrees to the camera is a good way of doing it, as I always wanted to ensure Martin never had an unusable shot due to focus. The white stripe on the crash mat is a datum mark for me, and you can see the cable of my remote focus to the camera. We were shooting on Panavision Z series anamorphic lenses, which were about the sharpest glass you could get, and this was likely on the 180mm. Ah, what fun we had ! - Jasper Fforde, Main Unit Focus, Goldeneye, 1995.

Did you mean C or E series anamorphic? Great job on the film. I saw your name on imdb, you have a very impressive list of credits.

I recall them as the 'C' series - the small and light ones, good for hand holding, but not as high a quality as the Z. @@joblo7

this was filmed behind my house (couple of fields down) and i still recall my gran getting a little irritated with the constant traffic up and down the lane and went and asked how long it was going to take and if they wouldn't mind keeping it down. She was great haha. still loved going and having a look at the tank and was so disappointed it wasn't real (stands it reason it wouldn't be lol)

@@onthetracksof007 yeah that mill lane bridge has appeared in a few things the Queen Music Video Brewkthru also take places on the same stretch of railway and the russian bunker bridge in goldeneye ends up being blocked by a wall and they crash a train through it. Who would have thought an obscure bridge would end up being cool :)

I bet that was to get her breath pumping for the shot (as she was supposed to have ran and jumped seconds earlier).

Very cool thanks for sharing Martijn and Ian. At Nene Valley, when I visited earlier this year Marc Hernandez showed me some locations. The carriage from Octopussy is still there for people to see. Actually two carriages. One has been resurrected and the other is sadly in disrepair.
