I was taught by an aunt of my friend here in the USA to make it pero ang ginamit namin ay rind ng watermelon and she showed me how to do it just like what you did. Naalala ko rin na ang lalagyan nang ganyan ay yung tulad ng ginamit mo, we call that "dulcera"--if those things are out, some goodies are coming up--kundol, minatamis na garbanzos, halaya.
