Bacolod City of Smiles? Is it true? Prove it to your self, it's a challenge. Who was blessed with smile in bacolod city? I've stayed in bacolod city for almost 10 yrs., In my first year of stay , going around the city for sometime , and going to government offices, private offices , , LTO, hospitals, sss, and for curiousity I want to prove if this is really a city of smile., Unfortunately I disprove this icon, in the streets even vendors, I dont see faces that smiles. Even the rich car owners, I dont see them smiling, instead they pretend to be somebody else, likewise for some of the street vendors, I only see faces that smiles in the receptionists in the front doors of videoke bars, and smiling masks during the masskara festival. I have this inborn smiling face, but because I felt Im the only one smiling, I tried to change my profile, to a formal one and lessen my smile .
I think you are in a better position to say if the icon is true or not. I’ve visited Bacolod many times but for a very short time periods. I had very good experience everytime. My take on that is maybe it’s not the physical expression of fondness or approval for people that we smile but their willingness to accommodate others especially in times of need. And that is very true to every Filipino anywhere in the country. We have the ability to smile despite the many hardships or calamities that we are experiencing over and over again not just the Ilongos but us in general. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and expressing your view.
Well too bad for you not all has the same experience like you. Perhaps you’re not good as you think. Try to be good to others perhaps you would gain respect and smile back at you lol
