What’s respectably about these guys. They’re not in the US to be thrown into jail for nothing. These guys are beating up, robbing and drug dealing.
They are doing those things, however they are clearly trying to move away from that and go legit. They were born into the culture, it is probably a lot harder than you think to break that cycle and go legit when you are brought up surrounded by adults doing the crimes you mentioned. But here they are doing big things in music and bringing a whole neighbourhood with them. I would be willing to bet that the regularity of the crimes in that area has dropped dramatically since proving that they as a neighbourhood or collective can do something productive that isn’t crime related. I obviously don’t think the crimes they commit are respectable that would be simply moronic, however you can see there is an active effort to move away from that, and I think that in itself is very very respectable.

I got locked up for 15 years and when I went my youngest brother was only 3, I came out seeing the same youngest brother that saw me the day before I left, he stabbed a guy that killed my sister and he got locked up for 10. It’s hard knowing that you can’t say goodbye. It’s painful cause u can’t even stand there and watch them go in. It’s just one look for 2 seconds and then u have to keep going. It sucks cause the last time I met him and spent time with him was 15 years ago when I took him to maccas for his 3rd birthday. I fucked up, I just stayed around gangs and got pinched for killing 3 people that had something to do with the death of one of our younginz. Don’t go to jail. YP was obviously a fav! After time went by you start adjusting to all the members in the group and how they all fit so well together. To me they all made the group ONE. Was so awesome seeing their talent flourish as time went by. Very sad seeing their talent gone to waste behind the prison walls but it is what it is for now.
