I wonder if Fi manipulated her dowsing on purpose to not point to that (because she's with Zelda on the "using" Link thing), or if the crystal/amber/thingy is smell-proof so it blocks dowsing signals.

Since Fi can interpret the goddess' messages and generally has a connection to the goddess, maybe Hylia kind of programmed Fi not to seek out her human form if it was crystallized? Cause Hylia, before eventually becoming Zelda, had a general idea of what would happen if Demise returned (as seen in Zelda's pre-crystal speech). Idk I'm nerding out here but it's super interesting to think about!

If I ever get to replay this game I'll pay more attention to her dialogues, to see if I can catch anything to support that. I know she definitely knew Zelda's identity as Hylia from the beginning, since she says something like "the one you call Zelda" when you get the sword. I think she also has referred to her as a "spirit maiden" or something like that. She also mentioned Zelda "has her own journey" implying Fi knew Hylia's plan all along. One thing might support the other option though (amber blocking dowsing)... if you can dowse Zelda in the past before this cutscene but not after. But I can't remember if that's the case.
You are closing in on the last leg of the game, and one of the most creative dungeons Skyward Sword has, in my opinion. Once Groose has finished his character arc like you saw, you know it's gotta be coming to a close.
Fun Fact: It's widely believed that Groose is the origin of the Gerudo and is further theorized by some that his first son was the first appearance of Ganondorf. But in lighter news you have him to thank for giving you Urbosa's abs!

Once again, there is a far better way to defeat the imprisoned. You fly up to the cliff above him, and jump on his head. This only works after stunning him with the groosenator. Also, the hole where the sealing spike usually goes is actually a massive air geiser during the fight. You can use that to get on his head as well.

Meaning that Zelda might eventually die and become a goddess again, since the other Zeldas are not a reencarnation, but her descendents (otherwise, we wouldn't be able to talk to Hylia). Also, there is a fairy in a jar, next to a chair in the temple. You can get a fairy, go to the past and future and get a fairy again. I call this "the fairy paradox".
Oh, Quin is going to see the big nasty water dragon again. He doesn't know yet the amount of grief that awaits him there. He will scream and cry and feel unpleasant.
First of all, I'm so glad you're enjoying the franchise! Ganon/Ganondorf is a reincarnation of Demise's hatred. And you can actually see Zelda behind the doors in the sealed temple at the beginning of the game :) Aaaand you can find Levias's bones in BOTW in Eldin (if I remember correctly). You've probably already seen them but it's a fun thing to know :)
The next dungeon you find will be the final one. However, actually _getting_ there is an entire quest of its own (which you just started). Nine tends to be the magic number of dungeons for a Zelda game -- e.g. Ocarina has 3 kid dungeons, 5 sage dungeons, and Ganon's castle; Twilight Princess had 3 Fused Shadow dungeons, 4 Twilight Mirror dungeons, and two final dungeons (Twilight Realm and Ganon's Castle).
You'll visit every area in the game one more time before the end, and that will depend on how good you are at the game, and how much side content you'd like to do like getting the ultimate shield from the thunder dragon

This is for anyone who will read it that doesn’t already know this but if you go back before anything else and visit the spot where the old one sat back when you first met her you will actually see a crack in the Wall/door behind where she was and if you peek through it you can actually see the orange crystal where is Zelda is Supposedly chilling.
It’s amazing to me how you can resist slamming into the railing in the Lumpy Pumpkin. My fingers twitch every time I’m in there like: ‘Run into the railing, Viv. DO IT.’ … I eventually gave in.
Feel better, man! As for stuff for Zelda: Check in on that guy whose love life you ruined, you can get into his room at night. It's got gratitude crystals. Also, you get a wholesome quest out of getting that heart piece from pumpkin house.

So glad this finally came back. I knew what came next and was eager to see how much it hurt you. Because Zelda sealing herself hurts all of us. Every time. (I love them so much!) Also the length of the game at this point mostly depends on you. On what extra things you do before the end. Which I do suggest because Skyloft is such a colorful place. With plenty of interesting personalities. Without much extras I'd say maybe six hours. Depending on your speed with the song parts. It's probably the most tedious part of the game, but is also plenty of fun in its own right. (And yes. The 'No Roughhousing' sign was a hint. Roll into the walls The Lumpy Pumpkin a few times.)
11:20 i think it depends on your playstyle. It took me 82hours to beat the game but I went in with a very completionist mindset and got all the shields and stuff. Id say youre probably ⅔ of the way through.

Hey Quin you should check out the Zelda timeline so you can see how each game is connected. It's really interesting once you connect the dots. Skyward Sword is at the beginning of the whole zelda timeline.
So funny thing: the crystal that Zelda seals herself in in the past is visible in the present. The door at the back of the Temple is open just a crack. Early game, it puzzled me. Late game, I was sobbing.
FYI, you can find levias‘ skeleton in BoTW, on the northern edge of hyrule just behind death mountain. The wind fish is also there, being the skeleton in the desert by the fairy fountain. The more you know

Ok so I'm very late to these vids, and I love them so much. And someone has most definitely probably already said this already, but this blew my mind when I was told several years ago. Zelda's Lullaby is a classic theme, heard throughout many a Zelda game, and it is great. It's playing during the cutscene in this game where Zelda gets put in the crystal and "falls asleep." A lullaby to be lulled to sleep, so to speak. And ALSO! One of the central musical themes in Skyward Sword is Ballad of the Goddess. A theme to awaken the sleeping Zelda, if you will. IT IS IN FACT ZELDA'S LULLABY IN REVERSE! With some tweaks here and there but... My god. 🤯 Still amazed by this.
Quin. I've beaten the game many times on wii and Switch and believe me whe I say this. Ur almost 3 quarters into the game so like you have a bit more till the end. Edit: I've how he was just like "Fi got an upgrade cool" and not all like 'so I have the true master sword now" lol
Groose is one of the best zelda characters. He starts off as a pompous douchebag/goof, but grows into a brave knight who acknowledges and respects link, trusting him with zelda's safety and happiness.

5:47 ...Oh geeze...okay. So Demise is the Demon King of Hyrule, though he is more akin to a vanguard force's General. Upon being defeated, he enacted a curse to continue the Demon Clan's attempted conquest. The first part of the curse was Demise's Hate being the catalyst to release Vaati from the Demon Realm. The second attempt of his curse was given a "champion". Ganondorf is just a human man, a thief, however, he has consistently come in contact and bargained with the "Vile intelligence" within Malice (Curse of Demise). So, by all accounts.... Ganondorf is a Warlock with a Pact with Malice, whose machinations makes him into a Herald and Champion of the Demon Clan, throughout the timelines. Ganon(-dorf) is more or less Ganondorf gaining enough power to Ascend to Demonhood, and by extension, take on the role and duties as Demise.

Hey Quin you should check out the Zelda timeline so you can see how each game is connected. It's really interesting once you connect the dots. Skyward Sword is at the beginning of the whole zelda timeline.
So funny thing: the crystal that Zelda seals herself in in the past is visible in the present. The door at the back of the Temple is open just a crack. Early game, it puzzled me. Late game, I was sobbing.
FYI, you can find levias‘ skeleton in BoTW, on the northern edge of hyrule just behind death mountain. The wind fish is also there, being the skeleton in the desert by the fairy fountain. The more you know

Ok so I'm very late to these vids, and I love them so much. And someone has most definitely probably already said this already, but this blew my mind when I was told several years ago. Zelda's Lullaby is a classic theme, heard throughout many a Zelda game, and it is great. It's playing during the cutscene in this game where Zelda gets put in the crystal and "falls asleep." A lullaby to be lulled to sleep, so to speak. And ALSO! One of the central musical themes in Skyward Sword is Ballad of the Goddess. A theme to awaken the sleeping Zelda, if you will. IT IS IN FACT ZELDA'S LULLABY IN REVERSE! With some tweaks here and there but... My god. 🤯 Still amazed by this.

Groose is one of the best zelda characters. He starts off as a pompous douchebag/goof, but grows into a brave knight who acknowledges and respects link, trusting him with zelda's safety and happiness.
Due to the red hair and gold eyes, I suspect Groose is the progenitor for the Gerudo.

The first part of the curse was Demise's Hate being the catalyst to release Vaati from the Demon Realm.
The second attempt of his curse was given a "champion".
Ganondorf is just a human man, a thief, however, he has consistently come in contact and bargained with the "Vile intelligence" within Malice (Curse of Demise). So, by all accounts....
Ganondorf is a Warlock with a Pact with Malice, whose machinations makes him into a Herald and Champion of the Demon Clan, throughout the timelines. Ganon(-dorf) is more or less Ganondorf gaining enough power to Ascend to Demonhood, and by extension, take on the role and duties as Demise.
