My grandma used to sing me this song but with my name instead of clementine, because it has the same number of syllables. It was so nice, she has such a sweet voice. I miss her so much
Gabriella's voice is world class. It is soft in the best way, not weak. If she were a professor, I would take her class. A preacher, I'd convert. A cop giving me a speeding ticket, I'd pay double. I'm not kidding, this is the voice every child wants to hear at bedtime. Brava Gabriella, brava...
Oh Wow - What a way to start my morning! Thank you SO much Duncan! Probably one of the most beautiful comments I've ever read! I don't teach singing - I do instruct Zumba and Aqua sports though - LOL. Thank you for writing this and making my YEAR! 🤩
Hearing this just made me immediately think of that one animated dog that I only saw one animation of very frequently in between shows Edit : Huckleberry Finn
th-cam.com/video/6FWmK3G4h80/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=theangelofwind1 Indeed a beautiful rendition. Thank you for telling me about her! I might try this version in a show if I want to sing it differently. Thanks for the tip! :)
Indeed - when I perform it live - I present it as a love song for Clementine's sister "How I missed her - till I kissed her little sister and forgot my Clementine" - I sing it with humor. In fact - as a little girl in school - the last verse was erased from the school book - so we never understood why the lyrics were so sad and the melody so happy. I only discovered this when I found the entire lyrics online.
