Thanks for the video, this is the most informative video on this subject i have seen on youtube. You really go into the nuances of this. The reason i found it was because it the video of high school girls fighting and getting her head bashed against the asphalt out of hazelwood east highschool. I believe she was showing signs of this phenomon on the video. Very useful knowledge to know when someone is in big trouble and it is a fascinating phenomenon, subbed

Can these come and go in a type of episode like manor? And how long does something like this tend to last?

I don't know as a rule but my husband had a car accident and he was doing decerebrate posturing and it lasted for a couple seconds. Like one movement shown. Then a little while and he'd do it again. It wasn't over and over frequently. He'd do it too when he was having a pain response. It lasted until he died.

Had a 3 year old today, recent pyrexia and vomiting. Now non verbal today, not responding normally. Low blood sugar, responded poorly to Hypostop gel and Glucagon.Looking up to the corner. Grunting type breathing. Then began to posture decerebate then decorticate. Was intubated at hospital with suspected meningitis. Not good.

@@MedicMaterials It's cool you still respond to comments on a vid over a year old!
You're providing valuable information and I hope you feel gratification in educating people the world over.
I live in the UK, I have been unconscious before (head injury) and have seen peoppe unconscious before, but recently saw a video of someone all tensed up like how you explained it, so I decided to Google it... Found out the name of the phenomenon, then typed it in to TH-cam and watched your video.
You should know that at least one person in the UK is slightly more knowledgeable and prepared in a worse case scenario, because of you.
      Good work! 👍🏻

I appreciate anyone who takes the time to watch my videos. So the least I can do is reply to a comment. Doesn't matter how old.
Glad you got something out of it. That's the best way to compliment what we do making these videos and the podcast.

I am here inconveniencing every video on this subject , because you won’t let a newcomer science channel post with out removing content shown in all the others
