This was the most intelligible, rational and hopeful explanation on this topic I have come across. Thank you. I will say, was someone who has done primarily Western, seeing the horse on the bit of English riding looked all wrong and those who preach riding in halter only, I could almost see why. I am up for an open mind, b/c have ridden the horses you describe and, boy, ready to give it a rest.
