- After almost 2 years since Romanian Edits 1 the #obordiscofunk editor IORGA strikes again. The second instalment in the Romanian Edits series took the final form and brings with it four more reasons to be cheerful.
The four-tracks here, which all blend samples from huge 70s & 80s romanian funk and disco recordings with their own musical flourishes, all sound like guaranteed dancefloor winners. The recipe and the chef are both the same, but the taste is more evolved and we call it Romanian Edits 2, the second release by IORGA at Vinyl, Rum, Tapas & Wine label.
"Do It Good" is a cover released in 1977 by Super Group Electrecord with Gil Dobrică as vocal singer after the original release by KC and The Sunshine Band in 1974. It contains a part with an excellent use of well-known Manu Dibango's Soul Makossa sampling. Rather unknown than forgotten, this gem is full of punchy horns and afro latin percussion which combines perfectly IORGA's addings of effects, new percussions and powerful drums from our millenium.
Originally released by Electrecord in Romania, written by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch (KC and The Sunshine Band) and performed by Super Grup Electrecord with Gil Dobrică.
Mixed by IORGA, mastered by UFe, 2021.
