Minnie Fash I am finally done with relaxers! I always loved straight hair. But at the age of 56, I think it's a hormonal thing and it won't straighten with a relaxer. So, I am surrendering! I hate that a lot of black women have no hairlines now. It's just not that deep! 🙃
Best of all we have the natural volume for a lot of vintage styles. We don't need a ton of hairspray. I wear a pompador and I have the lift without any volumizing products. 🤭 Just some pomade to smooth flyaways.

Out of all the 1940s-1950s hairstyles I've seen on 4c hair, your tutorial has been the most helpful and best executed. You've also taught me that 4c hair doesn't always have to be straightened to have that curled look to it which the twisting gives it the illusion that it is. Thank you and I hope you create more hairstyles like this.
That is not 4c hair! 4c hair is much tighter and more coarse. She had 4a and 4b hair like my niece. People think if it's thick it's 4c, but that is not enough to make it 4c. She had 4b hair like erikah badu. My hair is 4c which I know cause I match the chart, my hair shrinks way to much to just be combed out and stick out like hers and it is more coarse.
@@ladybird491 4c hair can be this texture when wet, combed and blowdried to stretch the length so it will appear to be the same texture as the woman's in the video. Untreated 4c would have to be pretty long for it to be wrapped and pinned up the way the woman did in the video, so black women who have short 4c hair would have to treat it such as wet, comb, and blowdry for it to be longer. So technically her hair is still naturally 4c hair, but it's just a different texture from blowdrying it.

Jassette Martin I completely understand where you are coming from. I was once there. Commit to constantly moisturizing your hair. It gets tiring, I KNOW! Trust but that's the key to management of our hair type. Once I grasp the importance of moisture, my hair is much more easier to detangle and style 😉
