I want it known that this bit is partly why I like brussel sprouts now.
This was one of the first Vicar of Dibley episodes I ever saw. I think I laughed for a month afterwards. Freaking hilarious!!! Dawn French is superb!!
I love when Hugo brings in "The Winner's Reward!" and it's a mountainous Christmas pudding! XD
Makes me laugh every Christmas… and the many other times I watch this episode throughout the year
Best way to cook sprouts:
~Slice them really thinly
~Drizzle some oil over them
~Chuck then in the bin and open a bottle of wine

These were traditional British ones I think i.e boiled for about four hours!

@@carolynmurtaza1180 Yes I know. It was hyperbole. Overcooked sprouts at Christmas are a national joke in the UK.
Cut sprouts in half. Toss with some bacon grease (& some chopped bacon), and a very small splash of soy sauce. Stick in a baking ban and bake until slightly browned and crispy.
That actually sounds like it could be appetizing. I always think cooked sprouts smell and taste like soap.

Of all the Christmas dinner they made for this episode and apparently the only thing Dawn French got to eat were the sprouts.
They aren’t my favorite vegetable, but roasted with a drizzle of olive oil, salt and pepper is pretty tasty

I hate Brussels Sprouts and have always hated them, I am not crazy about boiled cabbage either. Probably the only vegetables that I don't like.
