You have really done your homework when it comes to the needed research for the bestiary. This video has finally persuaded me to buy the Baptism of Fire - and imagine, all all the places, it's quite to get in Poland, delivery time is more than a month on Amazon...
That's unfortunate, but hopefully it will be worth the wait! Thank you for your patronage.
Amazon only offers softcover.
@@lord_insany yes, I think the hardcover is only on DTRPG
I love this book a lot. I am however not going to use its system yet but I am deeply inspiring the setting of my next Vampire Dark-Ages campaign from it.
Well that's okay, however you use it that's great as long as you use it! Spread the word, share the video!
Baptism of Fire IS THE FIRE! "Fly you fools!....and but it now!" - Gandalf probably.

I like the art work and the cool history and mythology

Of all the animals I was most curious about the lions in Poland actually. I'm unfamiliar with any stories about them. As for elves, they might not have much to do with Poles but I'm sure they'd have plenty to do with any Northmen especially around the present Alfablot season!
I don't remember what it was but if I have the lion in The beast area it was because I found some kind of reference to it. It was probably not a very common reference.
Well done , I love Gnomemurdered!
Happy Halloween from Poznan!
Thank you! Have you got the Pundit Files "Poznan City Guide"?
@@RPGPundit Yes I have it and its great ! and ive almost considered using it as an adventurer/tourist guide, my polish players actually can identify places that you have detailed.
Awesome stuff! I am absolutely LOVING *Baptism of Fire*!
I love the folklore aspects, even though I'm one of those few that LOVE the D&D Gnome! 😄 👺
Have you read any of Nikolai Gogol's works, or seen Forbidden Empire or the tv series "Gogol"? I know it's Ukrainian/Russian, but there's a good bit of overlap and analogs between them and Polish fantasy.
I haven't seen that, I'll have to try to find it. Spread the word, share the video!
I've been excluding gnomes as PCs since the '90s. One campaign Gnomes did exist in the world's past but were wiped out by a war (aka Gnome Nuke lol). I haven't cared for Gnomes since pre-school. I had to complete a learning program that only used illustrations of "garden" Gnomes (drawn by a Dutch artist in 60s or early '70s ). Now I don't use any fantasy races from the PHB.
Yeah, I mainly use gnomes as semi-sapient critters akin to chimps, albeit underground. But I’ve never before thought of gnomes as being venomous.

27:40 I am very curious what undead monsters woke become if this what was believed to happen to people long ago.
Cant w8 to get it looks great :D
Thanks! Hope you get it soon.

Inspiring.
Say I want to develop my own area based on a historic region (Italian city states, Finland, Mesopotamia, etc), where should I turn to without completely miring myself in Academia?
Well, it depends on the region and time period, but the internet has a ton of great historical resources, you just have to work a bit at finding them.
@@RPGPundit Obviously. But I do try to narrow it down abit, so I don't waste time looking in the wrong places. Any pointers for a hedge researcher?
Those European bison, they were the Eastern heirs to the Rome? The Bisontine Empire?
(car crash sound)
I see what you did there

As a polish man, this is great and I do wanna get this book, but god damn, for someone who did this much research it does hurt my ears to hear you mispronounce almost everything lol
Sorry, I'm of Polish descent, but I don't speak the language fluently. The good news is that there is no audiobook version of this, so you can read it in the correct pronunciation!
