When you play the game normally you can catch slimes, hold them on your farm and do a lot more cool things with and without them

In the Slime Sea's Slimepedia entry, it states shooting a slime into the Slime Sea waters will not kills
and that slimes can reappear from place to place.

Correct, except it didn’t eat it. Gold slimes only eat gilded ginger, otherwise you hit them with random objects to get them to drop plorts.

I think they did want to implement this, but as it was not originally meant to be multiplayer they would have to under take a massive change to the code.

How you got 2 gold plort out of a box
The box spawned a Gold slime, which had a bunch of food fall on it spawning 2 gold plorts before it hit the wall and disappeared. It was an amazing stroke of luck, and one that will likely secure the run for a while.

Actually it boots you to the main menu, but yeah, you can absolutely continue. In fact, there's a couple extra neat things you can only do in post-game. ;)

I honestly can't believe Slime Rancher has a speedrunning community. I played it and it never felt like a game you would try to get to the end of, just one that you would experience while you enjoyed it and move on when you feel you've explored enough

People dont know the difference between glitches and exploits smh. Jumping on the slime to reach higher platforms is an exploit. A glitch is just an error in the game's code. Learn a fact or 2 before you go saying stuff.

Glitches are exploits. What are you on? A glitch or a bug is a behavior in the code that was not intended by the developers. If you use that, you are exploiting it, thus, it's an exploit. However, just people someone uses exploits, does not invalidate a run. It depends on the game and the rules agreed upon by the community.

To all the people saying "ThIs IsN't A gLiTcHlEsS rUn He UsEd GlItChEs!1!1" a Glitchless run means you can't abuse glitches that allow you to I.E go into walls. If you stay within bounds, it's glitchless. And yes, where he went with the slime jumps are in bounds.
After screwing around in the entrance to the ruins, (using a maxed jetpack and energy) i found a way to jump over the giant slime gate, perhaps this can be used to finish the run a bit faster?
well obviously, it would, if he had the extra time to max out is energy and jetpack. the slimes can be fed once every while so he couldnt keep farming the plorts fast, he would have to sleep a lot, and he would probably waste, well my guess, maybe around like 10 minutes trying to get that

to get the credits, you need to read that last checkpoint. Then, a certain type of mail from casey will be sent to u on a random day which will allow the credits to play

TopOfAllWorlds No, but pulling a slime upwards, while using it as a platform, to reach unintended heights is.
Skywalker pulling slimes around with the vac is intended. Jumping off them is intended.
I don't see how putting these two intended mechanics together is a glitch. He is simply exploiting these things to gain hight.
It's definitely exploiting intended game mechanics to achieve unintentional things however to say it's a glitch would be untrue.
A glitch by definition would be something doing that which is unintended. When you jump on a slime it's supposed to be bouncy. When you vac something towards you, especially if it's a slime the mechanic still goes in play physics wise.
This would be a "bug" if anything, but not a "glitch" If they somehow catapulted 100's of feet in the air off a slime with it, that would be a glitch, something malfunctioning within the game. Since it's just a combination of game mechanics, it's "cheese" more than anything.

It isnt necessary, if I didnt get it I would have needed to collect rad and rock plorts in the indigo quarry to get 600 newbucks. It saved alot of time

You get a message from cassey or whatever and that allows you to trigger the ending
you get to the deepest part of the glass desert, read the note, then wait for casey to send another message involving a new tour
