Yes, Steve Lukather is amazing. His rhythm guitar work is truly incredible as well. He has such a wonderful way of playing melodic phrases without clashing with the multiple keyboard parts in most of their music.

If you're not fast, triple tapping, and sweeppicking the he'll out of the fret, you're not an worthy player to listen to. If you're old enough, and a true rock fan, you should know that he's not an underrated player. When he entered to the studio, to record his solo parts for the Dio song "We're Stars", he was nervous but everybody else in the room respected him, as a matter of fact, his solos in that song are above and beyond the top rated players at that time. He was probably eclipsed by Yngwie but that's it. We all have our perspectives about music, we all have different tastes, but IMHO, Neal is one of the best player's of all times.

These solos are serious business and I really love that he's focused like a laser on his music and the guitar and not showing off to the camera with his eyes and smile. The ones that do that (including vocal coaches and their singers) are cheesy and a complete distraction. It's incredible that Ignacio can play all those leads and not look at the feet board. Mind boggling! Such a brilliant player! That being said, TRIAL BY FIRE is a beast of an album and my all time favorite Journey album.
I am such a picky guy when it comes to doing an artists solo I find so many people change chords to make it a bit easier. YOU are on the money brother, not a missed anything. Just awesome!

It just gives it this _yearning, soulful_ quality, yet still full of FIRE! It's almost like a voice, emphasizing certain words. Anyway, very well done, buddy. 🤘
