Got lots of juicy stuff getting flung into the packer, so satisfying crunching stuff.

Sure thing!
Tip 1: Always always always look out for motorist and bicyclist
Tip 2: Watch for Anything that goes BOOM (glass, paint etc..) at the end of the Hopper. Generally happens when you have both cans tilted up and are cycling the hopper.. sometimes glass is where you cant see it.
Tip 3: Bring extra gloves! and extra shoes/socks if you are in a rainy area! No one likes riding to the dump with swamp feet 😂
Tip 4: Watch for critters when you open a can. I have seen snakes, opposums, racoons all of them 2 feet from me when I flip that lid
Tip 5: Make sure you have your hi-vis on, for your safety. Not everyone is looking for you, so you must look out for them.
Tip 6: Have some dog treats/stickers on hand for the dogs and kids!
Tip 7: Wear EAR Protection on recycle days! Trust me.. you dont want to hear ringing in your ears at night.. it sucks! (Glass hitting hopper is MEGA loud)
Tip 8: When a can is lifted up being dumped, do NOT stand directly behind it. We call this the danger zone.. if a can come flying off, its either going in the hopper or coming straight backwards away from the trash truck. I have seen some stand directly in the no no area and got nailed by the can. It doesn't feel good.
Tip 9: Wash your trucks inside and out at least once a week! Yes not everyone is going to keep a nice and neat work area especially with it being a trash truck but sooner or later you will be recognized for having a clean work space.
and last but not least!
Tip 10: Safety is key! Slow down, look both ways. When you go to get off the back of the trash truck, remember to not land sideways as in twisting your knees to get to a can. I step straight off the back and land with ONLY my calf and toes (No twisting). I had some knee problems for months when I first started because I did not know the best way to minimize strain on the body.
Everybody does it differently but this is what I found that works best for me.

We dont run into many stops with trash diapers but theres definitely a few stops where I notice some so Ill do my best to get those recorded for you 😁
why bring the can up the driveway? less efficient & wastes time
its in our contract to do at least 30 feet, makes the island look better without cans all over the roads
