    Hello Garry thank you so much for your videos...
    If I am using the simulator, two windows appear: the Simulation Control Window and the C-more Simulation Window. The question is: it possible to use a real BRX PLC (which I have) instead of the Simulation Control Window? Use my laptop instead of the c-more panel. Thank you

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Tarasik,
      This is a very common question. The simulator is independent of any controls so this will not communicate to anything else. It is simply a test to see visually what the operator will see and basic functions.
      Possibly in the near future, this will allow a communication simulation to the controller.
      I hope this helps you out.

    I think I have the same setup as you. (C-MoreEA9 and BRX PLC). I do not get a memory type of 0. Only DISC. PLC does not see a changes to MC locations. I do everything else the same. Did something change?

    • @rodmartin1817
      @rodmartin1817 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, ok. DISC is memory type now. Address is the full location. In this case, MC1 instead of just the address number.

      Glad you got it figured out.
      When doing these videos, I used the Modbus Driver on the C-More EA9. This was a universal driver for many PLC manufacturers. Since you are using the BRX Do-More, I would use the Ethernet driver for the BRX. You would then just use any of the memory areas you want.

    Another question: What integer number, such as N7:1 type deal, can I use for screen control and with a password allow or not allow a user to go to screen number 3, (i.e.) If PW = set number, then MOV a 3 to N7:1.. ???? I'm using a SLC 5/04 processor with the C-more panel. Thanks! Also where should the help file folder be located in order to get the Help to come up when I click on it. Do I just need to re-install C-More from scratch? Seems I also didn't have it unzipped when I did the install.

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Red_Pill Matrix
      You need to set up the panel to PLC and PLC to panel settings. This will control the screen switching on the HMI. Here is a post on how to do that.
      accautomation.ca/c-more-ea9-hmi-series-panel-to-plc-and-plc-to-panel-settings/
      You can make the PLC do the passwords for a screen or have the HMI do this for you. When you create a screen right click and go to screen options. The third tab over on the top is the password set up for the screen.
      If you hit F1 the help menu will appear. The main menu on the far right has a help option. Also, the objects that you put on each screen will have a help button.
      I hope this helps you out.

    Can we download to a panel if there is no SD card yet present? I am working with a EA9-T10WCL. It didn't seem to work/ to allow transfer.. grayed out. Using a USB cable. What am I missing? Thanks!

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Red_Pill Matrix,
      Yes, you can download the program to the panel if no SD card is present. It sounds like your USB driver has not loaded correctly during the installation of the program.
      Check the USB driver using the Windows Device Manager:
      With the C-more panel connected to the PC, on the PC, open Control Panel --> System
      -->Hardware tab --> Device manager. Next, expand “Network adapters”.
      The C-more driver is named C-more EA9
      If the C-more programming software Communication Config dialog USB indicator is red,
      and the driver does not appear in Device Manager,
      1) Unplug both ends of the cable and plug them in again.
      2) If that does not establish communication, plug into a different USB port on the PC.
      3) If there are any USB hubs or other devices being used, temporarily eliminate them to see if this solves the problem.
      4) Reinstall the C-more HMI USB driver
      5) If you are still having problems try another USB cable.
      Reinstalling the USB driver:
      The C-more USB driver installation utility is bundled with the C-more software installation files. If you have a C-more software CD, the file is in the root, called EA9USBDriver.exe.
      If you downloaded the software, when you extracted the files, the EA9USBDriver.exe was extracted to the location you chose. First, close the C-more software and disconnect the USB cable from the PC. Then, browse to EA9USBDriver.exe.
      I hope this helps you out.
      Regards,
      Garry

    How do you set a screen saver and use a bitmap as the screen saver on a EA9-t7cl

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brandon,
      The screen saver will only blank out the screen. If you need to display a bitmap, then create a new page and reference this page after a time in the PLC.
      To control the screen saver from the HMI here is a link.
      www.automationdirect.com/microsites/c-more/software-help/Content/023.htm
      The connected PLC can control the screen saver by using the Panel PLC settings.

    Hi, I'm thinking about ordering one of these EA-9's and programing it to use as the interface on my cnc water jet cutting machine, I have no experience with this though, is it something that would be advisable to go for with no kind of schooling or training or would you say no way. Also my jet's communication protocol is RS-485, would the EA-9 be compatible with my machine?

    • @ACCautomation
      @ACCautomation  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ryno Wit The Chop Dishin 1 Up Top,
      Yes, you would be able to program and use this EA9 HMI without any experience. The software is very intuitive. Here is the entire series on the EA9 on our website.
      accautomation.ca/series/c-more-hmi-series-panel/
      You mention that your jet's communication protocol is RS485. This is the media. RS485 just means serial communication through 2 wires (200m max length). The protocol could be something like Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII, etc.
      Once you find out your protocol then we can verify if the EA9 will communicate.
      Looks like a good application. You can then use remote access and display the information on your cell phone (Android / IoS) or Windows computer.
      Thanks,
      Garry

I asked the company that made all my i/o modules, plc and pci card in my machines computer the protocol and they said rs-485 but not modbus, i think it was a sales person though not an engineer or tech. and actually the pci card is the only thing in my machines computers all the other modules, components and wiring are out on several din rails next to the computer inside my machines electrical cabinet. All those components including the pci card and I believe computer as well are made by a company called Tawain Pulse Motion and the line is motion net, are you familiar with this brand? maybe you know what protocal my machine uses.

    • @ACCautomation

      This is beginning to make sense. Motionnet is the protocol for this controller.
      www.tpm-pac.com/Motionnet
      Tawain Pulse Motion is capable of communicating Modbus. Here is one of the models that will support this protocol.
      www.tpm-pac.com
      Do you have a model number for the controller you have? I'll then look at the specifications to see if an HMI can be added.

      @@ACCautomation I gotta look in my computer at the pci card which I'll do in a little bit, machines running right now but my machines interface is currently an HMI, reason I want to swap it out is cause I absolutely hate the oem's project they programmed and loaded for us (their customers) to interface with, it's terrible and lacking many functions and features that come in handy in day to day use, reason I have to buy a new HMI is cause A) I know nothing about the one thats in it including who manufactured it, there's absolutely no mfg info on it so I can't get support and B) Even if I did know what brand and had support I still think it's gonna take me at least a month to program maybe longer cause I'm bad when it comes to wanting things to be to perfect, it really slows me down sometimes and is completely unnecessary, although my HMI program that trait is definitley justified for, all that being said, I can't not have an interface on my machine for even one day.
