AFTER A YEAR OF USE - CRISPI ALTITUDE REVIEW
The boots wore great, this review was after a year of hard use and abuse in steep and often wet terrain. The Altitude GTX was great for high mileage days with massive amounts of climbing, descent, and sidehilling. The hybrid design allows for great breathability for hunters using these in early season conditions. For wet cold adventures, consider a full grain leather boot like the Briksdal or the Nevada.
Loving my Altitudes. Just got the Hard Rock for winter ops. Very impressed. Utah High Uintahs.
Oh yea that is a great late season boot. We don't get super cold temps in the Cascades but if I were in the Rockies that would be go-to late boot.
Excellent review, experience, insights and tips! Very well done. Thank you!
Thanks for watching, we will make sure to get some more out there!
Just the review I needed!
Thanks, responding from our fishing channel. Appreciate it, not many views here for such a currently relevant product. Haven't seen anyone share a review of a fully used and abused pair of these yet.
I sent them into Crispi and they sent me a new pair. They have awesome customer service. They are incredibly comfortable. It’s always a hard decision on weather to wear the Lapponias or the Altitude
Great to hear, that's excellent service. Both are great boots, the Lapponia to me is a bit "cozier" but lacks that rigidness for heavy packs.
I just got a pair this year, been really impressed
Glad you like them! Couple of us in the shop are running them this season and so far great feedback from the feet. Nice early season arhat trickles into mid season boot.
Love mine! Hard for me to take them off.
Same, other boots I am dying to yank off my feet either while glassing other the second I get back to the rig. My feet loves these boots.
Get some iron laces and you'll never have a lace problem again. They're awesome and all my boots get them.
@@sinepari9160 that’s a great tip! I will have to check those out!
So are crispsy not available in big toe boxes
I bought a pair of Altitude last year and only wore them in a few hunts. All the stitching on the back of both boots has completely come apart. I have 4 other Crispi boots and they’re all holding up great. Not sure why the Altitudes are coming apart.
We've seen a small amount of stitching come loose after a season, but not like you are describing. Did you warranty these with Crispi? Also, other than that did you find the fit and comfort to be comparable, better, or worse than other models? Always like to hear feedback from other users.
I had the same problem with mine too. It's like the stitching on the back part if the rand is where the boots naturally want to flex as the ankle bends. The threads just eventually just frayed and broke.
Did you size down in the Thors as well?
I found that on the Thors I did size down a half size for me personally.
For somebody that wears an altra running shoe with a wide toe box what shoe brand would you recommend instead of Crispi then?
Great question. I like the Nevada boot by Crispi if you are looking for a wider toe box. The Lapponia and Altitude both had a more European style toenbox, resulting in a slimmer toe box.
How would you feel about hunting white tail in Wisconsin in this boot with some warm socks. I feel like insulated boots maybe overkill this seems like a potentially good choice
Sounds like you have a potential to get cold feet. Are you still hunting or tree stand hunting? These boots aren’t very warm. I find them to be good as long as I am mobile but not the best sitting and glassing boot. I wouldn’t use them in the late season here in the PNW.
Those look terrible after 1 season
I use 'em hard, but I do admit I should have conditioned them more frequently for sure.
