2020 Honda Civic LX quick review

- This is a quick review over the features and functions in the new 2020 Honda Civic LX model. If you have purchased one, or you are considering purchasing one this is a nice refresher over the amenities the vehicle offers.
That's my car! It's the same model, same intense red, same features, same everything. I've had it for 11 days and am already in love. I had my last car, a Dodge Intrepid, for 17 years and I love it as well, for its physical beauty and comfort combined with lively performance. It has a 200 HP engine and road-hogging suspension and loved flying into turns, but got too expensive to maintain. Giving it up was like getting divorced, heartbreaking but necessary. My Honda has only 158 HP but is also lively thanks to lower weight and a very clever transmission and its stiff suspension keep it glued to the road.

Want to get this model for the price but I can’t buy a car and hopefully drive it for the next 10+ years that doesn’t have Apple/Android. Also not having a push to start/ remote start is something a 2020 car should have.

The LX model does not offer navigation.
I've had this car for like a week and I messed up the screen (not really) I was messing with the settings. but it won't show my bluetooth or radio info after I pick a song it used to show all the info about it now it okays the song but the screen is just black with the time in the top right corner do you know how to fix this? It's not a problem it just bugs me.

My 2017 Honda Civic hatchback Lx front dome light won’t turn on when I open the door. I can press it to turn on and off, but it won’t turn on when I open the doors. The back light turns on but not the front. Is the front light even supposed to turn on when you open the door?
There's a switch on the roof you can flip. That way every time you open the doors they will stay off
@@JustinFullerReviews there only a switch on the back light, and it is on for doors, but only the back lights up. You have to press to turn the front light on Manually
How to turn on back window shield wiper
There is no back window wiper on this car.

Yes! Test drove one today
so between 2019 and 2020 there are no changes to the model.
The LX now offers the 1.5L turbo engine.
wow I was 2 years too late, this one is way better than my 2018 ☹️ still love it tho!!!!!!

I bought a 2019 and its exactly the same.
Yeah I can confirm. I was about to buy a 2020 one for $900 more than the 2019 one and before doing so I asked "Give me a quick rundown, what's the difference between the two"? The car salesman told me "Besides the year number? Nothing". The beauty of it is that the 2019 model that I bought was in December 2019 so my proof of purchase will show that the 2019 model is practically the same age as the early released 2020 model which will help the resale value a little bit.
ThatOneGuy civics are awesome. I was about to buy a used 2016 with 20k miles for $18K from Carmax. But the sales man from the Honda dealer insisted and offered a brand new 2019 for $18.5k. I took in a heart beat. I bought mine earlier in the current year.
@@addij3689 $18.5k before tax+other fees or out the door $18.5k? Either way it was a good deal.
ThatOneGuy it was before tax and fees. But they threw in a few exterior parts and a plastic tub for the trunk.
@@addij3689 Oh you got a better deal than me lol. My out the door price was $20.5k and they took away the plastic tub and w/e other misc. piece. What I don't understand is how do they charge you an extra couple hundred dollars for the "waterproof" trunk tub.

I’m getting my family a 2020 Civic lease tomorrow. Trying to determine model based on longevity and I’m leaning toward the 2.0 LX. They don’t need infotainment, moon roof or push button start. I like the naturally aspirated port injection and it’s not much less powerful.
Longevity should not be a big concern in a lease. It will be under warranty the entire time you have it. Unless you are thinking you will buy this vehicle after the lease end? In which case I think it would be cheaper overall to just buy it from the start. Just a thought.
I have been leasing a Honda Civic LX for many years now. Never a problem with the vehicle.
It’s almost 2024 and this car still goes for about 20k used at most dealerships lol.
I just took delivery on my 2021 . I ran across your channel and you answered most of my questions. I only wish I could get a manual in a base model.. I realize I’m an old guy! Not a fan of the CVT. All I want is a sedan with a manual and classic cruise control in a base model. Also, I’m a little hard of hearing. I really like my stuff, LOUD!. Upgraded stereo on a base model would be nice..

After seeing this video, I purchased a 2020 Honda Civic LX sedan. I really like the ca,r but I turned off Honda sensing because I want total control of the car, not the car controlling me. You did a great job explaining everything. Thank you for posting the video.

Can I replace 2020 Honda Civic LX stereos with Apple play car stereo by pioneer?
You may need a kit to fit it into the dash, but you should be able to.

Hey Justin! I though the sport and up have the big 7 inch touch screen and the LX has the smaller one. I've seen some LX's with the 7 inch touch screen. Is there like some package that you can get to upgrade the screen?

How can I fold and unfold mirrors?
Can it use android auto?
You can just push the mirrors on each side towards the car windows and back. You can push them toward the hood too.

The US does not offer a DX version so I am not sure.

if you were leasing it, a lot of time you can get an Accord for almost the same as a Civic. If you are buying both offer almost the same features. it comes down to usually budget and back seat space needed.
Awesome review with comprehensive details! It's super helpful for a new owner to get adopted to the vehicle, I got my new 2020 LX earlier this month and I love it so far. The only weird thing is that I found the touch screen on my model looks totally different from the one in the video...not sure if that feature varies from country to country? I bought my Civic in Canada btw.
Canada's models do have differences. Typically your vehicles seem to be a little nicer in lower trims!

The base model (LX) does not offer heated seats.

@@JustinFullerReviews I just bought the Civic LX with heated seats. In Canada the DX is the base model. I do have a question though - at the top of the display are two white lines which change color when driving. What are they for? I have only had my car three days and am trying to figure it out. Thanks for the information.

How hard is it to insert a key and turn it? And how much cheaper to fix is the old way versus the push to start?
@@joshuasmith1215 It's not about how hard it is to do that, it's about one is more convenient than the other. Why do you think cruise control is a thing? Simply because it's more convenient to drive that way. Holding your foot down on the pedal isn't much harder than not doing it but if you're going to drive your car for 5+ years, it's better to have convenient than not.
@ 03:09 is the car alarm Active or Passive? Also i own a 2015 Sentra which i love however, during night driving, the passenger & driver side door locks are unlit and hard to find; are the civic door-lock power buttons backlit?
Passive alarm. When you throw the lights on it illuminates the lock buttons, window, buttons, etc. You should be good.

It is the base model, so you have a lot of options above this one!
