Igorrr just remembered that art is a vehicle for emotions and thats exactly what they sell, along with crazy good players, vocal and mix. Everyone that enters Igorrr with soul will get it.

This group actually really talked to me inside. I was looking for this dark, emotional, metal, classical and electronic sound for the last 4 years or so.
Actually I didn't think it existed, so I had no hope to find it. I was actually trying to create my own world of sound.

I love igorrr, especially ieud, there is just so much depth in the voices, so much emotions are being passed onto the viewer, even though you don't understand what is being said. It's out there, and if you are not used to it you'll most likely be weirded out by it. But it's worth checking out more. I recommend Pavor Nocturnus (2015) , figue folle and Tout petit moineau
All beautiful in their own way :)

We discovered Igorrr by accident at a BBQ when we let TH-cam do it's thing with autoplay. We all laughed and had fun by hearing this but also thought "wtf is this shit...it doesn't fit at all"
Now I really enjoy listening to Igorrr. The music has something special and genius in it - I can't explain it, it's something between discomfort and euphoria.
Happy to see them live in April \m/

I love Igorrr, you can place it nowhere, Igorrr is Igorrr, when you listen it, it's not grindcore, it's not melodic, it's not speedcore, it's Igorrr!!! I can't compare Igorrr to another one!!!
I love it, it's unusual, it's surnatural, it's a melange of acoustic and electric... paradise and chaos!!! This group represent the perfect state of my mind... A lot of friends tell me: Chris, you're the sweetness personified!!! But... if only they knowed the chaos inside me, if they can see the mayhem on my brain... they'll understand than why I love Igorrr, it's the perfect representation of me...
unfortunalely, we're on a world of appearence, they just check the outside... if only them can see what's happenend inside...
I present you all my excuses if my locution is strange, I'm Belgian french speaking and I don't have the chance to often speak English... Look the making of savage sinusoid of Igorrr, when you'll see how he works, his musicians and from where he start for arrive there... it's impressionant!!!
    best regards all!!!

I know I'm late to the party but as someone that have been through the whole Igorrr experience tour I want to share.
I remember an absurd amount of details of my first exposure, yeah I have to call it a exposure, to Igorrr.
The lighting of the room, the face of my friend about to click play, the smells, the noticeable but still soft influence of alcohol, the taste of the soda+96% booze drink I just had taken a zip off. The post-event. The prelude.
    Then it unfolded.
My eyes taking in the album artwork and my ears the sound.
My brain didn't register it as music. In fact my brain was so completely caught off guard it couldn't prosses it. But still it wasn't just noise, like some type of static.
I sat there listening, on a office chair broken in every way it could be but still function as a chair, for 43 minutes.
The first there where only "what the fuck is this", then disappointment an actually a little contempt of my friend.
In that time of my life I was a black metal musician, of the dead serious type. It wasn't just music. It engulfed every fiber of my existence and my friend while not a musician him self where in the same complete alternate world of reality.
    The Norwegian Black Metal world.
When the album was over I sat my eyes in his exiting stupid looking face awaiting a response and just said (For it to make sense when translating I have to paraphrase): "You need fucking psychiatric help!".
He laughed, and a few seconds the first emotions faded and all I could feel was a fog confusion with a entity of unease lurking inside.
At least a month went by. Maybe two.
The unease in the confusion had lingered in my subconscious and started to leak into my conscious self and I had to visit it again. This time his newest album Halleluja. I was left in shock and awe.
I still didn't characterize it neither music or sound pollution but something new. Indescribable.
Afterward I revisited my first encounter: Nostril. And fucking loved it.
Don't misunderstand me here, I am to this day utterly confused by Igorrr's music.
When I today reflect back at my first meeting with Igorrr and my extreme reaction to it I think i see what happened. It was to much and unexpected. I simply needed to push it away let my unconsciousness digest it.
I am aware that this sounds exaggerated but music hits people in different ways and with different force and god damnit I got my head smashed in with a solid steel baseball bat.
Of course the fact that I was in the middle of a psychosis that was going to last almost 9 years in total could also be a factor but the jury is still out on that one, hehe.
The way I see it is that Igorrr first of all is a artwork of confusion, a decent into a musical world without the traditional meaning of music and the emotions following it.
I have thrown many of my friends as well as my then girlfriend and present wife into Igorrr and the man behind's other band Corpo Mente. What I have seen is that the work of Gautier Serre (Igorrr) is an acquired taste and once you have it and only then you are able to appreciate its layers. And trust me there are far more layers than you think.
I would say I'm sorry for this comment borderlining to a paper study but I'm really not.
I really encourage you all to jump into the rabbit hole that is the musical world of Gautier Serre.

I definitely can give you some avantgarde metal albums that I really enjoy (I love Igorrr too, watching this guy for some years now, and I can tell you that his latest release is the most metal of them. He has some metal background with some progressive band that I don't remember the name now....) ...Ebony Lake (with their On the Eve of the Grimly Inventive), Diablo Swing Orchestra (especially with their Songs for the Damned and Delirious), La Division Mentale (L'extase des fous), LE GRAND GUIGNOL (The Great Maddening... there's a vid on this one for Madness and her Thousand Youngs), La Rumeur des Chaînes (self-titled), Pensèes Nocturnes (Vaccum... this one has a very interesting combination of blues and depressive suicidal black metal on Coups des Blues on Coups des Bleus), and so on...

    Why Ieud?
God spells Dieu, in French, and Ieud would be a street talk called Verlan, where you invert the syllabes, (basket becomes sketba and so on).
Ieud is also the French phonetical for the English acronym I.E.D.
    Pick your favourite.

Possibly, "ieuD" is a corruption of the French word "Dieu", which means God.
Anyway, this stuff just blew me over completely. Extremely intense. Pretty hard to get into at first, because they really don't give a toss about conventional music structures - which is only adding to the challenge AND the excitement. Definitely an acquired taste and I'm already hooked. I may have to check these guys out live.

Igorrr went in an interesting direction with the new album. Still the old Breakcore, Baroque kinda stuff but with much more metal i like it.^^ I like the older stuff too but this is much more my kinda thing

I love the initial face when the harpsichord starts the song off and you can tell he is like, “what the fuck is making that noise”

Haha, glad I checked it out too. This was a weird mix of folk, black metal (riffs), some electro beat, symphonic female voice, all somewhat good put together :D
No, mr. Galacticriminal: I've written it before, and I'll keep on suggesting: Dark Tranquility ("Lost To Apathy" or "Misery Crown") and Omnium Gatherum ("The Unknowing")!!

Very nice, now you need to do the other request in that comment, Oceans of Slumber is a really good band, their album Winter was defiantly in my top 3 albums in 2016.

Read an interview with Igorrr not long ago. From what I got out of it it's just experimenting for the sake of experimenting, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Igorrr is a french band and "ieuD" is just the reverse for "Dieu" meaning "God". So "ieuD" translation would be "doG". You're welcome

    • @aragorn0988
      @aragorn0988 6 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not sure if anyone has said this before because I'm too lazy to check BUT. ieuD can be read as Dieu. simply changing the posistion of the D >.> ... is enough to change the word to God in French.
