When Burning Crusade first came out and I made my first Blood Elf, I was blown away by the beauty of Eversong Woods, but when I arrived in the Ghostlands, my jaw dropped. The place was absolutely spooky, and the two giant Abominations walking around scared the ever-loving crap out of me.
Going from the eternal spring of Eversong Woods to the sunlight-devoid Ghostlands is a memory few will ever forget! Eversong Woods really sets the stage, and then the Ghostlands envelop you in that haunting atmosphere.
Those two abombs were bad, but the worst was that stupid, @#$%ing void reaver in Hellfire Peninsula. More times than I care to admit, all of a sudden, my screen would shake, I heard that accursed roar, then one hit later, I would see the Release or Revive box. Yeah, I don't miss that....
The blood elf zones, to this day, is peak level questing. Story is great, the flow is perfect, the difficulty (not so much in retail) is great. Just perfection
I fell hard into the lore of Warcraft when I began playing near 20 years ago, and your forays into these now fabled zones gives me a small sense of that same feeling I had taking characters into them for the first time so long ago. Thank you for that small hit of nostalgia. Ending this with the Lament of the Highborne was a masterful decision.
The ability to draw from the well of nostalgia that is World of Warcraft is something that I hold close to my heart and will never tire of. While we can’t retrace our first steps into that world, reliving those feelings and being immersed in a time that once felt timeless is something I find worth revisiting. Thanks so much for being a part of it all. See you soon, in another adventure!
One of my favorite zones from old WoW. I can still remember me leveling a warlock in Ghostlands together with one of my childhood friends back in the day. Good memories.
This video needs more views and 1000's of likes. I remember finding that necklace and wondering what would happen. I went and saw the song. As a huge fan of the character from Warcraft 3, I thought this was probably the best thing they added to TBC before venturing through the dark portal. This moment was so impactful, I would literally bring guildies and friends, tell them about this quest and then sit down with them like we were at a concert and watch the show unfold. Very well done good sir. Full marks
I'm humbled by your appreciation, thanks so much! It was a very melancholic journey through the storied Ghostlands, and ending this region's tale in the Undercity with Sylvanas was a powerful moment to reflect on everything; her tragic past, the weight of her choices, and the lingering hope that once surrounded her. Thanks for being a part of this adventure together!
Spectacular zone. The aesthetics, the spookiness and the storyline are amazing. And most notably, the phenomenal music. The feeling of sorrow it evokes throughout the entire zone ties everything in together in one of the best zones they've ever done for Warcraft. I know they're remaking Quel' Thalas for the next expansion and as excited I am to see it with new, modern graphics, I am not sure they will be able to recreate the magic of the original zone. The original Blood Elf zones will remain Blizzard's masterpiece.
@@freddelarsson4434 indeed, quel'thalas will take center stage for the next expansion "midnight" and i would imagine that would mean a revamping of eversong, ghostlands, western plaguelands
This was the zone that I leveled in when I first got into World of Warcraft in college. I'll never forget the memories of questing together with my friends through here.
33:40 always found it funny that they don't use actual High elf Models but the old PRE-TBC high elf models which were just a Night Elf Retexture (with other ears)
@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth YEP! VERY! And even though I no longer play WoW I love your videos and they always remind me of why I played the game for so many years :P
Started in '09 and my first starting area was the blood elves. Damn this brought back memories. I died soo many freaking times to those two huge bastards. They were constantly surprising me, then when i was ready to kill 'em they were nowhere to be found. LOL
Not sure if it's due to my fondness of Warcraft 3, but I have always found Ghostlands to be by far the most depressing area in the game, mostly due to its history. Even now, years after discovering both games, my heart sinks when I think of the devastation that happened there, especially after experiencing it in Warcraft 3. Fantastic story, tragic but fantastic. And her singing after returning the necklace just makes the lump in my throat bigger.
I wouldn't say I find it depressing, but there's definitely an abundance of tragedy there. I remember when I first went to the Dead Scar, terrified of all the ominous Scourge wanting to kill me. I was thinking to myself, "This 'scorched earth' area is so sad and creepy, with these dead, white shrubs and those odd, round, white rocks..." My shock when I realized what those were, as I looked around and saw them as far as my eyes could see in both directions along the Dead Scar...
I mean, Arthas didn't invade Quel'thalas because he had an insidious hunger for death and destruction. He did it to raise Kel'thuzad from the dead as a Lich
Thank you for your curiosity. The voice you hear is not my own, nor any mortal's. It is an AI voice, to give life to the Loremaster's wisdom and depth.
Y'know. They didnt have to make that necklace at all and they certainly didn't have to make that necklace do anything. But they did, and the game is so much cooler for it.

Well said, fellow explorer. It’s part of the reason why I focus so much on the older WoW content. There was something to uncover around every corner, and we wandered through everyday hardships, slowly unraveling more of the world around us, lending a hand where needed. The stories were often filled with curiosity and wonder, and they frequently left room for our own interpretations.

This is well timed around Halloween this epidsode haha, I too always thought of Ghostlands as being kind of old school spooky.

When you bring the necklace back to Sylvanas. Its so epic !! New Blizzard cant even imagine a quest so deep in lore right now.
Always a treat seeing a new video pop up!
Many thanks! Enjoy the haunted tales of the Ghostlands - it's one of my favourites!

Nothing more I can add, agreed! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy!
One of the best lore channels I have ever found, always happy to see a new upload
Wow, thank you! Glad to hear that, enjoy!
Aw yes, my favorite zone: I still hope this one sees a visual update soon.
Definitely! Let’s make those spirits shine!
We can hope. We're going back to Quel Thalas in the next expansion for something.
Didn't Chris Metzen already confirm that atleast Quel Thalas would be updated or "brought back"?

Probably the best music I've ever heard composed for WoW. It's just marvellous, isn't it.
Absolutely! Other than a few zones in Northrend, this one is high up there.

Great video and Damn! I never made the connection previously between “Windrunner” village and Sylvanas….. after all this time…..
Hey, no shame in that! WoW's lore has many layers, and it's easy to miss some details. The best part is connecting the dots over time. Cheers!
Let's gooo! For the algorithm gods!!
dude you need to get discovered by some big movie talent for a voice role in something. you got that golden voice
A great compliment that deserves a transparent reply: I actually use an AI voice to narrate my videos for consistency's sake across all my content.

That’s the plan! I’m working hard to bring that vision to reality, one zone at a time.

At which point in Quel’Thalas do you spot the ‘o’ ? Why is it somehow only possible to say Quel’Thalos?! Oh, so it’s AI narration. Disappointing.
Stop using AI narration.
No. Get with the times, old man
