With kids in my opinion it's kinda good to laugh because most often then not they will start crying if you make a big deal out of it they look to you for guidance of how they are supposed to react if they are actually hurt they will cry but most often then not they will stop if you reassure them that they are fine and that they will be ok not a parent but it's just what I learned helping my brother with his daughter
For all my fellow people that aren't yet parents, I have learned a parenting tip that we all need to know for our kids generation. The mom who holds back her laugh when her kid hits his head on the table, don't do that. If you show concern the kid gets worked up and cries, but if you laugh and make a joke, while you tell them they're alright, they will learn to brush it off.
