    It's crazy to me that they only offer such a product in two colors. Paint is the easiest way to make a massive change to the aesthetic of a vehicle. Many people will consider the color to be the primary deciding factor before even power, safety, reliability, convenience, or comfort. It can be applied after everything else on the bike is complete and it's relatively inexpensive for what it provides. Offering only two colors would be like visiting a fast food restaurant and seeing their soda machine only has two flavors: Coke and diet Sprite. It's such a pointless limitation

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      lol you hit the nail on the head bud and that's something I've been harping on for years! Having two paint options on the Rebel is actually a luxury as there are quite a few models that are only offered in one color here in the states, turn around and look at them overseas though and you've got four options to choose from on the EXACT same model and same model year etc. Yes, I know sales can dictate how much effort is put into importing more colors that are available in other countries and you may not want to bring over a ton of colors - if it's a slow mover. However... what's to say you're not shooting yourself in the foot by only offering one color as not everyone is going to be head over heels for the ONE AND ONLY color you decide to import. And like you said, colors play a massive role in the buying process for the vast majority of people.
      I could ramble and rant for an hour on this topic alone lol but I'll save you from having to read even more as we're on the same page and your analogy is spot on.
      One of these days though, I'm going to "make it" to where I can chit chat with the big wigs pulling some of the strings on what colors are brought over, as I am genuinely curious as to how they pick and choose which to import and why X over Z etc. I think it'd be super interesting to hear the process behind it all or I'd just like to find out if they're throwing darts at a board to pick lol!
      Thanks for not only watching but for jumping in the conversation too, appreciate it bud ;)

      No problem. It wouldn’t be so bad if getting a professional-grade aftermarket paint job was cheap, but unfortunately it’s not. Once that vehicle is put together it’s a whole new process to get it painted

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@barneyboyle6933 Exactly, having a proper paint job done is FAAAAR from cheap!
      A lot of people from my experience of selling bikes over the years get to thinking that painting a cruiser like this won't be too expensive, when they see they see advertisements from Maaco etc, where they'll "paint" your car for a few hundred bucks. Thinking to themselves that since there are only a couple of fenders and a tank, so this will be cheap too. Not realizing there are levels when it comes to paintwork.
      ...and before anyone else reading this comes after me. Yes, I understand there is a time where cheap paint jobs are fine and all you would want at the end of the day. Typically though, if you just bought a new bike - you're not going to want the cheapest job and you'd want to at least match the OEM quality, if not better and odds are, that's not going to happen with those cheaper places.

      Listen bro im actually going a different route. The epa regulates the paints in the auto industry they are low quality. I learned to paint paintings before and you can get a higher quality paint when you can go and pick exactly what kind if paints you want. You can go with a better paint and hand pick a certain shade. So thats my plan. Junk paint jobs i can slap on a better paint with a brush and give it that asthetic bro the brushed finish

      @@HondaProKevinIf you know someone that works in the paint/body trade you should be able to hand them a tank and rear fender and get a professional paint job for a few hundred bucks. Don't over think it.

    I wanted to love it, I really did. And after 5000 miles, I couldn't wait to sell it - I did. This motor has no, I mean ZERO, balls. A thumper with NO thump. My 1975 XL 250 put this to shame. My Suzuki GN 400 was brilliant compared to this. They could have spent $20 on good foam and given this a real {and still low} seat. The bars are way too far forward, kills your back. Remember the old days when stock cables/hoses were long enough to change handlebars if you wanted to? Don't ever plunk your money down without riding the bike first, though nowadays that's almost impossible.

    Love the candy red color. I wished it was offered in the 500, but I can't even afford the 500. I might settle for a 300 and hopefully it can take me on the highway commute

    • @TheAnnoyingBoss
      @TheAnnoyingBoss ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Theyre costsnare too hyper inflated. I wouldnt pay for a new 300 500 or 1100. They each cost too much at the sticker and thats before taxes title fees, etc. This 300 is nearly the same cost as my very very bice quality talen care of honda accord v6 sedan. My sedan will last another 16 yeard easy and its more capable for barely a little more than this 300. This 300 costs way too much. Itn shuld be 4k new for the same bike. The grom should be 3k new for the same bike and the navi shouldnt exist. If this 300 was 4k and not 5k then you would have people paying cash or putting half down half on payments and theyd sell more. Right now theyre fleecing usnfor these tiny 300s. 5k is crazy. You can get an accord between 15 and 20 years old that will last another 15 or 20 years for nearly the same price. Thats very little bike for the same money that buys a lot of good reliable car from the very same company

    I'm 68 years old and have been riding since I was eleven. I have ridden everything from Honda's, Yamaha's, Suzuki's, Kawasaki's, to Harley's, but my wife's Honda CMX 300 Rebel is probably the most fun bike I've ever ridden. The brakes, clutch and the handling are so easy! It is such a smooth motorcycle to ride. It's fast enough for highway riding, but I wouldn't want to take it on the interstate. Overall a great little bike!

    I have this engine in the dual sport model. Let me say this, I have twins which have torque and speed. This engine first needs to be broken in to discover its torque and speed. It's a great engine. Give it full synthetic and it will like you back. I want to like the Rebel line but every time I sit on one I feel like I'm on a frame instead of a bike. But I have sat on the 300 yet.

    I was after a blacked out 300. When I seen the red, I was sold. I’m getting 129mpg with the 300!!! I get better gas mileage with the Rebel 300 than I do with my 125cc Grom or my 150cc Honda ADV150!! Great little bike that effortlessly glides through town, but is buzzy above 35mph, but can easily jump up over 80mph with my 190lbs self. Great bike if you stay off highways and don’t mind the single cylinder buzziness. 😂

    The candy diesel red looks awesome. But why they make that color only on the Rebel 300?

    Mid foot controls on a cruiser? That's a deal breaker for me.

    • @TheAnnoyingBoss
      @TheAnnoyingBoss ปีที่แล้ว

      Just buy forward controls bro. Ita a rebel, many of them will spend time on motorcycle learners courses so they go with a standard foot peg location

    • @garybarbatelli1972
      @garybarbatelli1972 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheAnnoyingBoss Thanks for the suggestion. I just spent a few minutes watching assembly videos of a couple of the available aftermarket forward control kits and found the assembly to be somewhat fiddly with many small fasteners the have the potential of shaking loose. I think I'll keep looking for a small cruiser thats equipped with forward controls from the factory.

    I never had any problems with my cam chains on my Honda CMX250 or CM450.
    The main purpose I use my bike for is hauling groceries every 2 weeks, so a bike that can't haul groceries is useless to me.
    I want a cheap hardworking mule out of a motorcycle, not a race horse.
    So it vexes me these manufacturers keep making expensive bikes, and useless racehorses.

    I personally think the 300 class of bikes has a plethora of options and validly in the motorcycle world for all classes and experience levels. Honda is Honda... and tho, like any other bike in the 300 Class, it may not be perfect but what is? It has its place.
    On a side note, if you get an opportunity Kevin, could you please do a review on the Honda Rebel 1100T with full fairing? The bike has peeked my curiosity and there isnt a video with your "panache" if you will, with the in-depth view you give. Thanks Man. Much appreaciated!! Keep on keepin on

      lol maaaan oh man, is your comment cracking me up after what I just ironed out as the timing is uncanny... I've got a little something in the works that'll be right up your alley, I don't want to say anything just yet but give me a few more days and I'll post an update on the community tab on here and on social media etc but rest assured - we've got a LOT more Rebel 1100T content on the way ;)
      On a side note, thank you for the kind words... to say I really appreciate them and the fact that you're hoping I'll make a video on a certain model means a lot, as cheesy as it may sound lol. But in all seriousness, I really appreciate the support!

      300 class is good for the trail bikes like the klx 300 and that crf300. Theyre good for when you just need to go to the store for a thing or two or just to work and back

    After my motorcycle accident last year when I hit a deer on my Honda Rebel, I ended up getting a used 2006 Suzuki S40. It is a lot smoother because of the torque, but the carb/single combo is very temperamental and the fuel economy is absolutely awful compared to the Rebel. I feel like I am always going to gas stations when riding it. The lack of gauges besides the speedometer and odometer (no trip and no fuel gauges) makes me appreciate the simple but ultra useful gauges of the Rebel. I have only rode the Suzuki three times this year, and after how it behaved when the humidity/rains started (the bike did not want to stay running at idle and needed me to keep goosing the throttle to keep it running), I already want to put it up for sale and get something else. While my old Honda was slow and vibrated a lot, it was so bulletproof, idled perfectly, and gave me 8-9K miles of great riding before a deer ran right into me as I was riding last April.
